I'll quit firefox if it keeps shoving yahoo in my face.
Every day I search for something or other and discover mid-search that I'm using that loathsome stupid brain dead Yahoo search engine. I keep trying to set my preferences and they keep reverting. Don't give me a long complicated procedure to fix the problem, fix it yourself. Get rid of Yahoo or get rid of me. I'll start using Chrome or Safari or Opera. Lots of competition. Incompetence doesn't last long. Goodbye stupid Firefox.

Yahoo search is not included in Firefox.
This usually happens if you have an extension installed that causes this or you have malware.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
