Running win 7 ultimate still with firefox version 70.0.1. Once i close firefox i get firefox is already running but is not responding. The old firefox process must be closed to open a new window. Only way to end all processes is to restart. Followed everything i could find online. Tried checking profile lock, accessing from another profile completely, running with addons disabled and hardware acceleration off as well as turned off antivirus. Tried wiping and reinstalling firefox completely. I even did a system restore i made years ago. It seems to be with in the last 4 months or so this started and its driving me nuts. Please help

Hello Brian,

Do you by any chance use Kaspersky ?

If so : would you please disable it and see if that will solve the problem ?

Many users have reported this problem the past few days, and Kaspersky turned out to be the culprit .....

I tried steps in link Naivedh suggested already. no change :( sorry also i did disable my antivirus to test and had no luck. no i dont use kaspersky. i decided to use another browser. idk why a program like this cant be fixed by simply deleting and reinstalling. short of resetting my whole computer and trying to load it again, im not sure it will work on my system and im not willing to try and not be sure for a web browser. thanks anyway.
