Couple of weeks ago Thunderbird 60.8.0 began to mark all my sent emails as unread. Now had the major upgrade to 68.2.0 and this behaviour continues. Can't find a setting to disable it. Have tried creating a message filter 'From/my email address/mark as read' and this doesn't work. Any ideas much appreciated.

I'm having this problem also. For me, it seems to be only with my Yahoo! based accounts.

Yes my email is Yahoo too. But if I sign into Yahoo mail it doesn't happen. So it's something with the interface between Yahoo and Thunderbird

Same problem with Compuserve/AOL. I'll attempt a filter to mark Sent messages as read.

Same experience here.

I was ready to "blame" Thunderbird, but I don't have the issue with Hotmail; just CompuServe/AOL and GMail, all three of which are set as IMAP accounts.

When I send a message from GMail's web interface, it also indicates that the sent message is unread and I see no way to change this.

Yes all of my yahoo accounts do this. I don't have problems with my gmail accounts.
