Thunderbird worked great until upgrade to 68 now I got a mess. Nothing works not even error reporting I get error message "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)" I tried re-install, windows repair, system mechanic. Anti-virus was off nothing helps. 64 bit system tried fixes in support, nope, Just lost now.

Okay, I did nothing new, was waiting for some responses, booted up this morning and without starting Thunderbird, it suddenly started all on its own and it is working. Don't know why, or how but it is. Ya got me on this one.

have you tried doing a full install from thunderbird.net? That might correct whatever went wrong in the update

Yes re dl directly and re-installed. like I said everything was fine until ver 68, that appears to be bad from all the complaints. thinking of backing up to eairler ver in new dir. but unsure as to settings and old saved emails

Delete the old program directory. Reinstall.
