Mozzila thunderbird importexporttools

Hello, its about mozzila thunderbird importexporttools extension. So here in our firm we have about 20-30 emails, and my boss want's to back up them fully. So here if followed a guide about downloading, and installing Thundebird extension importexport tools. Now I can't find how to compleatly export a one of thouse 20-30 mails. And also after an experiment, i exported one inbox, after that i delated a message and then i tryed to import the folder back to see if the message persist. I have no result. Pls help give me a guide to how to manage to backup all the emails one by one if I have to.

Maybe you are using an imap mail account. You cannot import mbox files directly back into an imap mail account. You can directly import .eml files back into an imap mail account folder. Fuller details can be located on authors website: https://freeshell.de/~kaosmos/mboximport-en.html

You need to import mbox file into the 'Local Folders' mail account. right click on email, select 'Copy to' and choose the imap Inbox. This puts the email back on server.

I would advise you ensure you are downloading full copies into all folders.

If wanting to perform a backup of entire profile, make sure all folders are synchronised and up to date. I would suggest you use Offline mode whilst doing a large backup. Menu icon > File > Offline > download/sync now

You could set up imap account to auto synchronise folders if you select 'Offline'. Menu icon > options > Advanced > 'Network & Disc space' tab click on 'Offline..' button Download messages for offline use when going offline? select 'yes' click on OK click on OK

You can go to Offline mode by either: Menu icon > File > Offline > Work Offline OR click on the 'two blue screen icon' in the bottom Status bar on far left.

Then in Offline mode (ensures no synchronising is going on whilst copying data) you could backup the entire profile or just mbox files. See images below as guide

To go back to 'Online' mode: click on the 'two black screen icon' in the bottom Status bar on far left.
