Can you explain what you're trying to achieve by running the profile manager?

One little mistake people can do when trying to start Thunderbird with the ProfileManager for first time is dong so while Thunderbird is already running. Same thing with Firefox.

At the command prompt entered " (Thunderbird) ./thunderbird -profilemanager" as the link above instructed, or variation of, since it didn't work. With and without the / and -

Closed thunderbird got something different;

What didn't work? What is the directory you're in when running the command above?

I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I somehow doubt profile manager will be helpful for this.

~/.thunderbird$ thunderbird profilemanager

The command is

thunderbird -profilemanager

Note, there is a difference between

./thunderbird

and

thunderbird

commands.
