When I choose to email support from my POS software, it defaults to Thunderbird and puts their email address in the "To" box, but it also adds a lot of other text in the same "To" address line and also 2 other "To" address lines. I need to delete all of the unnecessary text and just have their email address in the first "To" address line. Is there a setting in Thunderbird that is causing this? I checked with their support and they say it must be a Thunderbird issue because it works fine in Outlook. Thank you for your help in advance! Doug

It works fine in outlook, is admitting they do not test their software on anything else. Given that outlook uses emapi to send mail natively and everything else in creation supports mapi not emapi it is like admitting they are taking money for untested beta queality softare. But my experience with most line of business software, be it POP, accounting or any other is that it is of generally poor quality, lacks testing and usually requires seriously compromised security to run.

So the issue here is to identify what the additional extraneous text is and where it comes from (your pos product obviously) but they obviously are not capable of supporting their product. So perhaps we can guess enough to get there. What is this text?
