Start Page, before Inbox ??
Hello:
I've just upgraded to 55.ob2 (beta), however there was an error message and then Thunderbird went into a complete upgrade.
But now my when I launch Thunderbird it goes to my Start Page momentarily before going to my Inbox. I have the Start Page unchecked in Preferences as I had before the upgrade. Prior to the upgrade, it went right to my Inbox.
Thank You.

Download and install the current release version from https://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird/
That will switch you to the 'release' update channel. You're on the 'beta' update channel right now.

Is there any particular reason you're using the beta and not the release version? The beta is for testing purposes, but shouldn't be used for a production system.

Thanks for your reply: I don't make any selection, that is just what gets down loaded with the automatic update. If there is a way to make a selection or just download the release version please let me know.
I have installed 52.ob3 (64 bit) and now everything is working well.
But I do want to go ahead with the latest up date, when I go to the Thunderbird page the download is for 52.2.1 which is an older version.
Where do I go to get the 55.?? release version from?
Thunderbird 52.2.1 is the latest release version. TB 52 receives bug fixes and security updates. The next major release will be TB 59. In between there are betas, which are not release versions. And again, betas are intended for testing purposes, not production.

Is 54.ob3 (64 bit) also a beta version?
Here's whats happening, I occasional check for updates manually by clicking the update button and I must be getting the beta versions when I do that.
A while back an update was installed automatically and it had a flaw in it, so I turned off auto update and went back to the previous version. But I've continued to check for updates manually on a regular basis and if the update is the same as with the flaw I don't do it.

Guess what the 'b' stands for.

How do I avoid getting a beta version with a manual or automatic update?
