Can I leave the auto reload option set, but add exceptions? Some weather cams for instance require constant refreshes, but this option make them difficult to use. I would like the option to remain for other sites though.

Firefox's limited accessibility feature to get your permission before reloading or redirecting a page only has an on/off switch, and it hasn't been updated to address script-based ways that pages can reload/redirect. You probably would need to use an extension to really get a handle on this kind of behavior by pages, and hopefully that would let you set site-specific rules.
If you search on the Add-ons site, do you see anything promising?
Thanks jscher2000 for the reply, but unfortunately there do not appear to be any add ons that specifically address this issue. However if anyone knows different, I'm ready to be corrected!
Do you need to use this feature for accessibility reasons or do you only want to use it to be notified of a possible redirect?
The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.
