PDF Attachment on forwarded email won't open - corrupt

I get an regular email with a pdf attachment that I forward to my wife.

On most occasions she cannot open the attachment, getting a "Format Error: Not a PDF or corrupted" message in both Acrobat Reader and Foxit Reader.

I have checked the original on my machine and on every occasion have been able to open the pdf attachment with no trouble.

This is not an 'every time' problem, just a 'most times' one. I can't spot the difference in the attachments between the ones that open and the ones that are corrupt.

Any suggestions?
