As a Windows person, I don't have much insight into the specifics of the crash.

I would suggest trying to disable the Flash plugin from using hardware acceleration (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/k.../video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues), but if it can't run at all, it's difficult to change the setting.

Adobe does make available an older "Extended Support Release" version of Flash, which is up to version 13.0.0.289, here (about half way down the page):

https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

If the latest version will not run correctly on your system, you might be able to remove it and run the old version for now.

Sorry to hear about the crashes. That May 18th report is for the Flash plugin. I suspect that's not the latest and perhaps not the reason that you decided to post. Are there any newer reports on the about:crashes page?

If the crashes happen quickly and frequently, please try browsing in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the option key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any less crashy?

Unfortunately, I can't enlarge the image in your post.

Did you find any new reports on the about:crashes screen, or can you access them on disk as described in the last section of the article: Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly)?
