Messages not deleting in inbox. Deleted trash folders and still not working

When I click delete on messages they do not delete they just look like they have been read sometimes. I deleted the trash folders like it said in the help menu but that did not help. This does not happen all the time but is very annoying. I have to restart thunderbird and then delete them and sometimes only 3 or 4 will delete until I restart it again.

Try to rebuild the index file of the troubled folder. Right-click the folder - Properties - Repair Folder
