I lost My Add On Weather bar at the first of May 2014 and I found a site where I could reinstall it and it worked perfectly, now today it is gone again and I tried the same fix as before and it says it has been successfully downloaded and installed but it is not? Any Help getting My Weather Add On reinstalled would be appreciated, as it is very important to My daily travels. Thank You!

What add-on is it?

It was an Accuweather Add On that alot of people had problems with at the first of the Month and someone had come up with a quick fix that worked just fine until I got on My Computer today and it was gone. I have a fairly New Computer and the Person who set it up for Me is gone for the weekend, but I tried the same fix as I found in these forum questions before and it said it was downloaded and installed, but nothing happened. Still no Add On Weather Bar. It Had the Local weather down in the right hand corner of My computer and switched back & forth from one City to another every Minute is what I had it set up for. It also had a green dot that if I put My mouse over it it would show Me the radar of what city it happened to be on at the time. Also a place to click on a 5 day forecast and an hourly forecast. Thank You in advance if You can help Me solve this problem. Last time it was quite simple. It has been driving Me crazy all day trying to get this working again. Thanks Again, Alan

I believe your Accuweather was on the Add-ons bar located on the bottom of the Firefox window. For unknown reasons, the "powers that be" removed the add-on bar, leaving no home for many add-ons.

Things to check out.

Press the <Alt> or <F10> key to bring up the tool bar. Then Tools > Add-ons > Extensions. Look for Accuweather. Has it been marked as Not Compatible?

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for an add-on bar.

Many of us are using Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) {web link} Restore squared tabs, appmenu, add-ons bar, small button view and more on Australis UI (Windows/MacOSX/Linux + Fx 29+).

I have tried to use the Classic Theme Restorer(Customize Australis. That is what I used last time this happened and it worked Great. I have tried it a gain a number of times and just tried it again from Your lnk and when I click on install it says installed and I click on that and it says restart computer and I try that and it just go out of Firefox for a second and comes bak in and it is not back, the add on? The Computer doesn't actually restart? I had no problem doing that the first time and that is why I am so frustrated and it just did it again from Your link, any other suggestions? Thanks Alan

Some add-ons require that Firefox be restarted before they are fully installed. Not the computer.

Did you look for Accuweather in your add-ons? Was it flagged?

I did not understand what you meant. Did you install Classic Theme, or was there a problem?

Yes I tried to reinstall it and it said it is not available for Firefox 29.0. Then I tried clicking on Your link for the Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) That is what I used at the first of May when this first happened and it worked fine, but this time it said it was installing then said installed and I clicked that and then it said to click restart and I did Firefox went off and came back on and still no Add On Weather Bar? It seems to Me when they upgrade something it is suppose to make it better, not loose a great tool like the Add On weather Bar? If You have any other ideas, I am open to suggestions? Thanks Again, Alan

I think that AccuWeather was one of the extensions that needed the Add-on Bar. You can restore the Add-on Bar using the link below

If it doesn't work, try to find and drag out the AccuWeather icon from about:customizing (put that into the Address Bar like a website)

This is only a suggestion.

Forecastfox Weather {web link} Get international weather forecasts from AccuWeather.com and display them in any toolbar or statusbar with this highly customizable and unobtrusive extension.

If you decide to give this a try, use this link to get the version compatable with Firefox v29; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1000643?utm_campaign=questions-reply&utm_medium=email&utm_source=notification {web link}

I have tried everything You have given Me and I still can't get My Weather Add On Back? It either won't install or it is Not available for Firefox 29.0 This is so frustrating. When this happened at the beginning of May 2014, I tried the quick fix Icon and My Add ON Weather Bar was back instantly, but everything I have tried Yesterday and today I am still without My Weather Add On Bar? I really appreciate all Your help, but it is very frustrating!! Thanks Again, Alan

I have tried everything to get back My Add On Weather Bar, but nothing seems to work anymore if You have Firefox 29.0? First time this happened I used The icon that alot of people have had success with, and that being Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) and that worked then at the first of May when I lost My Weather Add On, but the fix no longer works. So I guess if I need to have Firefox 29.0 I am going to have to go without My Add On Weather & that Stinks! I always thought that when something is updated and made better that it is suppose to be a good thing? In this case it ruined My day yesterday, and is continuing to ruin My day today!! I really Use that Weather Add On Alot, because I travel alot and I can just check it each morning and it was just the Great Add On!! To Bad that Firefox 29.0 Ruined that. If anyone out there knows a way besides using Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) that does not work for Me anymore I would be Grateful with any help getting My Weather Add On Back? Thanks, Alan

I was looking for accuweather in the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page. {web link} I couldn't find but a search engine found it at http://www.accuweather.com/en/downloads

I had thought it was an add-on, not a separate program.

Let's try this; Windows > Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. (Mac: Open the "Applications" folder) Remove accuweather, All of it. Then reboot. Then try to install accuweather fresh. If you get an error, copy what it says here.

I have Windows, but When I went to the Control Panel there was no Accuweather to remove? Alan

Okay, follow the normal steps to install your program. If you get any error messages, write them down and post it here.

I did follow the normal steps and all it says in Red lettering "Not Available for Firefox 29.0?" Thanks, Alan....................

There are other weather extensions for Firefox. Have you tried any of those?

Here is one search result I got from the addons site - I did the search from SeaMonkey, but the titles indicate that they are for Firefox as well.

Says it could not download because an engine with the same download already exists? Whatever that means? I have a brand New One month old All In One Computer. I have been talking with the guy who set it up for Me, a friend from School years ago. Anyway, He said right now there are alot of people that are having this problem with Firefox 29.0 . He has His Laptop but is out camping with His Family for The Holiday Weekend and He has also sent Me a few links that haven't worked either, but if I don't get it fixed by Tuesday and I Hope I do, then I will call Him at His shop and see if He has found an answer for Me or walk Me through a fix? There are other weather downloads that I could download and just have a temp up in the right hand corner, I don't want that, I want the Add On I had! Anyway I do Appreciate all Your help and I think Firefox is messed up not having 29.0 that is compatible with obviously alot of customs favorite Add On? If You have anymore Ideas or hear of a fix , Please let Me know? I also Appreciate all the help You have given Me so far. Thank You, Alan

Go to the top of this page, then count down to the eighth reply. You can use that add-on until you get this fixed. The add-on does most of the things you want.
