I have a world icon on tool bar with a red triangle notification. when i press on it it says "Cant connect to application" check your configuration. It does not allow me to open either statement. What is this?

I don't mean "saving" login information for later use, that I do not want to do. What I mean by the login not being retained is that when I log-in to a website like say Amazon, while I'm browsing, I end up having to re-enter my login information pretty much every other time that I switch between pages. I've never had an issue like that with any other browser. Is there some setting I need to adjust to stop that from happening? As I said, I'm not looking to save my passwords and usernames within the browser, I just want to effectively browse a website after logging into it without needing to login every time I move between pages. After the last update, I've been getting news story pop ups in the bottom right corner. How do I shut this off? I have gone into Settings and shut off the various notification and push options that always seem to turn on after updates, but it continues. I never got the pop ups until right after the last update finished.

Using Firefox on desktop, Windows 11. I am a long term Firefox fan/user.

My problem is I cannot find anywhere an easy method to add a shortcut on my Home Screen (which has now been a FF feature for some considerable time).

I am sure there was something available to do this in a prior version some time back. If I search the internet, I only come across articles describing how to do it on Firefox Android.

I know I can manually edit a box on the Home Screen to create what I need.

Sometimes new web sites that I visit appear in the boxes and I can then pin them in place - but the behavior around this is very erratic and unreliable - seems like random chance for an icon to appear on the home screen for a newly visited site. If this was more consistent, I could work with that.

BUT - where is the **intuitive** option??!!

I should be able to right-click on a tab and select "Add to Home Screen".

As simple as that.

Or drag and drop a link, or tab to the home screen - but this just opens the link. I have tried everything obvious that I can think of.

can someone tell me how to reverse this mess? I refreshed in an effort to get my vanished toolbar back. That worked. NOW, nothing works. I have a toolbar that connects to nothing. if you know this is going to break all the time, can't you just write a macro to fix it? I have followed all the instructions I can find, and it still doesn't work. I REALLLLLLLLY don't want to dump firefox, but I need something reliable that works.

I was busy logging in to Firefox (today's update) using my account and wished to store my login info, but the link upon login was a long useless address specific to the post-login screen and related to adding more devices. I opened a new tab but this was, apparently, a sticky login and the new tab was logged in as well. I logged out of that tab with the obvious (hindsight) effect of interrupting the previous tab/s.

Long story short, the immediate effect was the message in the subject line of this mail. Firefox locked my account and I need it unlocked.

The 100 release of Firefox turned half of my desktop web site shortcut icons to PDF icons. Why? And why only some? I have some URL shortcuts that I have no control over the icon (no change icon selection under properties). How do I get these changed back, other than redoing all the changed ones? Thanks, Wayne

When I type a term in the address bar or in any search engine...nothing. Links don't work from open pages. Typing a URL in the address bar doesn't work unless it's a site I've been to previously. It's very frustrating. Everything works fine in Chrome...and I hate Chrome.

So I updated today as requested and now all the sites I had previously checked to allow pop ups etc on are no longer functioning.

Why dod you not include copying these settings in your update,

What a massive waste of my time

Subtitles in picture-in-picture are doubled. I've tried clearing the cache and restarting the browser but the problem persists. Site in question is Netflix (first image). Does not happen on YouTube (second image).

Since about 2 weeks ago many AOL attachments are not opening (pdf.s are but others eg Word not). I have read thru' previous messages on this (in 2021) but turning off enhanced tracking has not fixed it. My attachments open in Edge and Chrome. Like others I would like to stay with Firefox but cannot live with this problem. Help please

On opening many websites I think they've created a new trick - dropping to the bottom of the page so you have to scoll through all pages to get to the top - is there a way of preventing this?

Instructions on changing primary email address not helpful-prompted to access Accounts but profile displayed would not let me edit my primary email address. When attempted to add secondary address was notified that code was sent to my old email address was was compromised & deleted by security of my carrier Want to add new email address & add secondary email account. I just downloaded the Firefox browser to my computer and need to configure my security settings in order to have access to a specific site. I have never used Firefox before.

My instructions say I must have version 1.0 or newer. I have version 100

The instructions then say to do the following:

Select Tools/Options/Advanced Icon/Encryption Tab Under Protocols select check boxes for Use SSL3.0 and Use TLS1.0 Select Privacy Icon In the Firefox will drop-down list box select Use custom settings for history Select options accept cookies from sites and Cleat history when Firefox closes De-select Remember search and form history and Remember what I have downloaded Click OK

I cannot find "Tools" Can you please tell me where to look for it and will the other items be under tools.

I need this help ASAP because I'm trying to fill out a form for a background check and security clearance that is due today.
