When I "wake up" my computer (windows 11) after being away from it for a while, I get this series of notifications from firefox in the lower right hand screen. They tell me about various emails, news stories from news sites, posts on social media etc. They whip by (one after the other) far too quickly for me to read and respond to them. While some of them may be of interest, they really aren't useful and are ultimately pretty distracting. The longer I have been away from the computer, the more they are. How do I shut this feature off completely?

Firefox was acting weird for a few days, so I refreshed it. Now my extensions in the toolbar have vanished, and I can't figure out how to pin them back. I read online instructions and saw a couple of videos, and they basically suggest that I click on "customize toolbar", then drag the addons onto the bar. Except that in my screen, my addons don't show up in the selections, so I can't drag them up. The addons are installed, and the weird thing is that I have ONE addon on the toolbar, but if I unpin it, it also doesn't show up in the possible selections (I had to press undo to keep it). Help?

Hi, I'm developing a webapp that's designed for print. It uses a "pinterest style" layout to have a column grid of objects with variable heights, and the print styles avoid breaking these items over the page barrier. (In fact, there are two grids on the page, one after the other). The website looks and works fine on screen, and both screen and print work great on Chromium browsers. But on Firefox, using ctrl+P or developer tools' print view causes the page to hang and the tab to ultimately crash.

I know it has something to do with handling the grid layout CSS as the print preview worked fine until I made the change from a traditional row-grid to a column-grid.

The site creates a variable amount of content based on user options at the top of the page. If the content generated is quite small (avoiding a page break?), the print preview works fine. In the link below, I've included some GET variables to guarantee a long amount of content to reliably reproduce the issue.

HI, I read the UK Mail Online Newspaper but this has just recently blocked readers who use an ad blocker. I have even tried disabling adblock plus but it still will not allow you to read articles.

I am using the latest version of Firefox on the latest version of Mac OS Ventura, 13.3.1 (a). I wanted to have a sidebar showing the websites bookmarked in my toolbar. In researching how to do this, it said I needed to use the menu button at the top left of the address bar to do this. The only thing is I have no menu button! Can you please tell me how to add the menu botton to my address bar so I can use the options it affords. I have added a screenshot of this Firefox window so you can see there is no menu button here.

I would very much appreciate it if you would get back to me as soon as possible so I can make Firefox more workable for me.

Hi, When I search for google and then click tamil , my language, the phonetic key board is shown. But when I start to type it only types iln English and not in my native or regional language. Previously I had no problem in windows 7. But it is not working in the latest firefox browser. Any solution Any missing on my part

I have Firefox 112.0.2 (64-bit) on a Windows 10 PC and I use gmail. In Firefox email writing, the font size in the subject line is larger than the font size in the email text which is set to normal which is too small. I would like to set the text font to be the same as the subject font but the next largest size for the text is large which is too big. Why are the subject and text content fonts different?

i would like to set it so that when i put my mouse on the top of the full screen, it doesnt exit full screen. when i hover my mouse at the top, the browser tabs appear. i need to stay in full screen. please is there a setting to stop this from happening? is there a setting to make the full screen stay on until i use my keyboard?

(context: i play a browser game, agar.io, in full screen, and when im trying to go up my cursor is no longer in the game and i temporarily lose control when that bar appears. also the game window distractingly resizes itself to fit the bar. i just transferred from opera and i dont want to have to get used to this happening, even if maybe for someone who doesnt game its useful)

Thanks for reading my troubleshooting question. When using the Firefox browser (my favorite by far) I cannot upload low res (500x500 pixel) Jpeg photos onto my Squarespace website. I called Squarespace and they ran tests including uploading my photos successfully. Squarespace recommended I clear Firefox cache and history. Still no good. I then ran a Firefox refresh. No good. Finally I temporarily booted the God forsaken Microsft Edge browser and My Squarespace website worked just fine. Uploaded Jpeg files successfully.

I really dont want to be stuck with Microsoft Edge. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Before Update: I have two different YouTube workflows on two different systems. Although I use ONE Mozilla account, I was able to get automatic sign on for TWO different systems. This meant that I was not automatically logged into the other account as long as I was on the appropriate device.

After Update: Auto-login is only working on my main system's Firefox (without new update). I now have to re-log into my production YT account manually. The reason I can identify this was after the update is because I now have an "old Firefox data" folder on my desktop, aswell as all my extensions being re-installed.

Considerations/Clarifications - I do not mean auto-fill passwords. I mean that my account is already ready to go when I access the YT site. - I use a few security extensions. I understand that these may have an impact on my browser's ability to save passwords. However, for the past 7 years, this has never been a problem given similar extensions.

    - Extension List: Privacy Badger, Adblock, Adblock plus, Adblock for YT, DuckDuckGo privacy essentials,  Facebook container, and Decentraleyes.

Any help is appreciated.

I have installed Firefox recently after migrating from Opera GX and I noticed I cannot control Twitter videos volume, only mute. I already tried to reinstall, tried with Troubleshoot Mode and I can't fix this. Is there a way to fix?

Hi all, I'm having an issue that I've seen mentioned over several years and without a workable solution - I'm at the point of having to transfer all my browser usage to chrome and abandon my beloved firefox. The issue has been 'answered' by advanced users to tell people to 'inspect' which font is the issue then check local systems font book for corrupted/duplicate fonts: however this is not a satisfactory response. Context: see screen shot attached for what the jibberish looks like, and a point in the 'inspect' view that I believe (guessing) is involved. System: Firefox 112.0.2 (64-bit), MacOS 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a) on Macbook Pro (13-inch, 2020, 2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5). This same websites do not have any issue on the same computer viewed on Chrome or Safari. Nor is there any problem on my iPhone on the iOS firefox browser.

Firstly this is not a user-friendly solution for most people, I'm afraid. Opening the inspect viewer is mindboggling for anyone who doesn't code and even for people who do some programming but not for websites (like me), it isn't exactly self-explanatory. I think I've managing to find examples that indicate 'Roboto' seems to be consistently involved in the display issue. Secondly, the step for 'fixing' the font that is the culprit - my local system indicates that all fonts are valid and there are no duplicates. I haven't installed manually Roboto as I'm uncertain where to 'safely' get the font from and my computer is owned and managed by my workplace - with overly strict administration/security rules so if I f-up a download of something dodgy my IT service will blacklist me and revoke my admin access... ** which would mean I'd be unable to do my job!**. I wondered if perhaps there is some security setting due to that, which stops website from loading the fonts they choose? From previous 'solutions' it said that having Firefox preference set to "allow websites to choose their own fonts..." should mean the websites can load as needed. If indeed I must manually download fonts for each and every instance that Firefox fails to display text legibly that is equivalent to Firefox being unusable. I'm clearly frustrated and it's because I love FIrefox and the ethos behind it all so leaving for Chrome would be very sad indeed! Help and a solution for normal users would be so very much appreciated. Also where can I properly lodge this issue with peeps who fix things? There are issues of this kind going back years and for both Windows and Mac Systems so it's not a one-off problem but a recurring one! Whenever I open Firefox on my Windows 11 laptop, a notification panel appears bottom right highlighting a news article from cordbusters.co.uk. I don't remember subscribing to this service and I can't turn it off. I can ignore it, and it times out after a few seconds. I checked addons and extensions but searching for 'cordbuster' in Settings gives no results. Running an internet search for cordbuster gives results for other sites quoting cordbuster but nothing suggesting a service provision. I am a long-term user of Firefox on phone and laptop.

Occasionally I select a bookmark in my menu bar that has become orphaned. Once on the page, I select the "Blue Star" and then try to remove the bookmark for that page to no avail. The bookmark remains even after shutting down and restarting Firefox (sync is off). Moreover, there are some bookmarks for which the "Remove Bookmark" option is not available after selecting the Blue Star.

I know that I can delete unwanted bookmarks using the Bookmark Manager but that method is time consuming when it comes to unknown, orphaned bookmarks that one stumbles upon from time to time. The aforementioned technique for removing these orphaned bookmarks is quicker assuming it worked.

Perhaps the Blue Star could remain filled in once a page is saved and subsequently returned too. Should one wish to remove the bookmark one need only return to the page and deselect the filled in Blue Star thus returning it to its outlined form while also removing the bookmark from ones menu.
