I cannot install firefox, i just keep getting a message to restart my computer over and over again & I MISS my firefox!

I tried to upgrade to Firefox 4 and after downloading, I got this message: "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" I reboot and try to start Firefox and get this message: "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" No matter what I do, I keep getting that same message. Please read this email carefully and help me to get Firefox working as I destest using MS Internet Explorer! I MISS FIREFOX!

And if I try to uninstall Firefox 4 to go back to my previous version I get the same message: "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" If I reboot, nothing has changed and I go round and round and round....
