Firefox opens in different workspace in Linux Mint (also Ubuntu and others?)

Since a recent update i.e. first half 2020, Firefox no longer opens in the current workspace in Linux - as it has done since its beginning many years ago. Instead it opens on a different workspace. Further, there is NO indication where it has opened - only occasionally an icon can be in bold in the menu, but not usually.

So after now "opening" Firefox the user has to search for Firefox on other workspaces. Then once found transfer it to the workspace where Firefox is wanted.

This is a new Bug (Yes, I since it wastes time, attention, and energy it is a Bug to me). If I turn off "Restore previous session" the Bug disappears. Which makes me think perhaps some programmer has "fixed" a problem which didn't exist and created a nuisance. Since I do NOT want to loose the tabs I was using previously then turning off "Restore previous session" is not an option.

If this is indeed not considered a Bug by some but instead a "Feature", then would the programmer(s) make this an opt-in "feature" completely SEPARATE from "Restore previous session", please?

How can this Bug (or "Feature" ???) be fixed and Firefox's historic, many years old, normal (and desired) behaviour be reinstated?

My System(s) Firefox in latest update (currently version 80.0 64-bit) Linux Mint versions 19.1 to 20 Intel desktops
