First I tried all the suggestions I could find. And FF just kept double filling the password. So I did a completely fresh FF install to a separate folder with no cookies or passwords or anything saved, and never any extensions installed. Still double fills the password -- which makes it impossible to log in. I am using FF Portable, and tried both the latest version and an older version. What could possibly be doing this?

Once again I have experienced that my Bookmarks disappeared. Some months ago, I had a HTML backup made, for easy Import. Now I started out by shutting down Firefox, followed by a restart. That worked last time (without import) This time it did no change. I shut down Firefox, and restarted the PC....... no change. (without import) Then I shut down Firefox and restarted the PC. Opened Firefox, and wanted to import the Bookmarks from the HTML file. The system comes up with a message stating that the file does not contain any bookmark references. ( Opening the HTML file using Firefox, reveals that all bookmarks are there, and can be used ) I uninstall Firefox, and re-install it . Flw. I try the import once again, using the HTML file...... to no avail. What am I missing here ?? My final option appears to be moving the bookmark one by one.. rather time consuming.

Smooth Scrolling is Off. Hardware Acceleration is Off. I've tried toggling "gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.force-enabled" Firefox is up to date.

None of this has helped.

I've been using Firefox for a while, and while there are many things I like about it, it has always been a resource hog. In the past I could get around this by just killing Firefox in Windows Resource Manager and restarting, but ever since getting a new computer an upgrading to Windows 11, it's gotten worse. Every couple of days my computer freezes for 10 or more minutes, I'm having to do a hard reboot ever few days, and I'm even bluescreening about twice a month. I'm pretty sure Firefox is the culprit because killing it will usually resolve the issue.

I'm wondering if there is some way to put Firefox in a sandbox so it does not consume nearly all available memory and other computer resources. It is by far the biggest consumer of resources on my system and I do not want to dedicate 4GB+ of memory to an app that is just showing a couple of web pages and playing YouTube videos.

When I brought Firefox up about a week ago, it presented me with a survey, results of which were sent to Firefox developers. They asked several multiple choice questions about features, but they didn't ask a very important question: Would you use Firefox more if it used less system memory? I currently use Google Chrome for about 2/3 of my web browsing because Firefox uses up too much system memory. I would prefer to use Firefox most of the time, but can't, since it bogs down when memory usage gets too high.

The survey should have included a text input box so users could enter any comments for the developers, and the survey did NOT do that.

So, after completing the survey, I was disappointed that I couldn't comment on the most important issue I have with Firefox. I would like the Firefox dev team to try get Firefox's use of system memory down. A short while ago, I opened 4 websites in Google Chrome, then opened the exact same 4 websites in Firefox. The attached shows the memory usage of each browser.
