Actually a person in the community tried to answer my question, but he didn't look at my full question, so it was a total waste of time. I have Tidy Favorites & love the little pictures of each of my saved websites, & the easy way it is to save new websites. But, I hate that Tidy Favorites isn't updated anymore, so that I can't change my ID & password! Can someone at Mozilla Firefox please tell me if there is a similar program to Tidy Favorites that I could change to, for saving my favorite websites, where I can change my ID & password if I need to? I've already looked at your huge, long list of bookmarks that are available. It's way too long of a list, without good descriptions to figure out. I need an answer please to this question. I don't even know if Tidy Favorites is a bookmark program or what it is. but I want something very similar to it. Thanks.

For reference, here's your earlier topic: Do you have a program like TidyFavorites that you update, that I can switch to and not lose my 50 saved websites, and be able to change my ID and password?

Just to be clear: Tidy Favorites is not a Mozilla service.

Some volunteers might use a bookmark-related add-on or service, but I don't think anyone here tries to stay on top of the dozens of available options. Which is not to say you shouldn't ask, but this should only be a small part of your research.

Some thoughts:

For many years, developers have created add-ons that fill the new tab with a variety of content. Most of those, like Firefox's built-in new tab page, show pages based on frequency of use or that you add to the page yourself. Perhaps one of these will work for you?

Or consider the new services launched to replace iGoogle with a new home page. These probably includes bookmarks among their many features. (I haven't reviewed these services carefully, but the web is now full of reviews of them.)

Good luck in your search!

Regarding changing your Tidy Favorites login information, did you try their online access page? http://online.tidyfavorites.com/login

I tried over & over on the login page for TidyFavorites, to change my ID & password, only to be told later on by Firefox people, that they don't update TidyFavorites anymore. It's an old program that they wanted to get rid of, is what I was told, but because so many of us love it, they kept it. But, according to what they told me, the ID & password can't be changed because they don't keep it up-to-date anymore. Do you know something about TidyFavorites that I don't? I'm getting more & more frustrated about this, because I don't know what to do about it. I would love to just forget Firefox Mozilla, especially since their program will never ever sync with my IPhone 4, even though I've tried over & over. But, I was told Firefox is supposed to be great for keeping hackers from getting into my computer. If this garbage keeps up, where no one will give me a do-able answer, I may just go back to Internet Explorer or something else. Firefox has always been very unmanageable, & apparently only for computer professionals to use, anyway. Thanks.

Let's break that down a little bit:

I tried over & over on the login page for TidyFavorites, to change my ID & password, only to be told later on by Firefox people, that they don't update TidyFavorites anymore. It's an old program that they wanted to get rid of, is what I was told, but because so many of us love it, they kept it. But, according to what they told me, the ID & password can't be changed because they don't keep it up-to-date anymore.

Do you recall who the "Firefox people" were that you spoke with about Tidy Favorites? The authoritative source of information on Tidy Favorites -- and the one who does the updates -- is the publisher of the add-on. Their site doesn't say anything about Firefox not being supported. In fact, they seem to be supporting many different browsers. Is that false?

Is the problem that the site won't let you update, or that there's no way to get the change saved in Firefox? (I haven't installed Tidy Favorites myself, so apologies if the answer to this should be obvious.)

I would love to just forget Firefox Mozilla, especially since their program will never ever sync with my IPhone 4, even though I've tried over & over.

Are you trying to sync using the Firefox Home app? The app was discontinued/withdrawn last year, so the sync service may not be working any more. Is this a key feature for you?

If this garbage keeps up, where no one will give me a do-able answer, I may just go back to Internet Explorer or something else.

Can you connect with Tidy Favorites in IE and update your login information there? I think the Tidy Favorites site claims to support it.

Firefox has always been very unmanageable, & apparently only for computer professionals to use, anyway.

This really deserves a separate discussion, because there probably are solutions or workarounds for the other issues you're having. Each browser is different in its philosophy, but I don't think any offers more options than Firefox, designed for users of every level.

Just because Tidy Favorites extension part is hosted at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/tidy-favorites/ does not make it a Mozilla extension as the vast majority of extensions hosted on addons.mozilla.org are made by third-party authors or companies.

As for synching Firefox on desktop with iPhone you may be interested in https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bookmarks-on-the-go/id550037184 as it is a continuation of the Firefox Home app (by a former Firefox Home dev) that Mozilla used to provide before.
