I continue to get "invalid E mail address" when trying to set up a new account

when i try to set up a new sync account as soon as i type in one letter, any letter, i get I continue to get "invalid E mail address" i typed several full addresses and waited, no luck i do not have a sync account this is a new fresh install of firefox 16.0 very frustrating, please help thanks

That message should disappear once you've finished typing a valid email address like username@server.com

please read my question......"i typed several full addresses and waited, no luck" i did this for an hour, waited up to 20 mins
