Thunderbird recently updated and I lost ALL my emails :(

I am using IMAP - now the emails have synced they are also gone from the ISP server.

I googled some solutions and can see in the /user/appdata there is a folder called "mail" which looks like it has all my old inbox folders and msf files .... however the new Thunderbird update looks like it is using a new folder structure "imapmail" which I can see does not have any of my old emails folders or msf files in there.

I copied all the files from the "mail" folder over to the "imapmail" folder and relaunched Thunderbird. I can now see the old folder structure under my inbox however I get an error message when I go into the folder "unable to open the summary "xxx". Perhaps there was an error on disk, or the full path is too long"

When I right click and go to folder properties there is no location path.

I need my emails and so disappointed an update has caused me to loose EVERYTHING ... please help!

FYI: here is a screenshot showing > folder properties & there is no location path. No matter what I do I cannot seem to relink Thunderbird to my old folders/email.
