Suppose I go to a site (say Hacker News) and click on a link. Then hit the erase trash can button. Firefox Focus tells me that my browsing history has been erased. If I now go back to the original site, then the link that I clicked on previously is highlighted in a different color, indicating that I have visited it (see attached screenshots).

This would seem to indicate that the browsing history is still preserved somewhere. If I close Focus and then reopen the original site, this does not happen. So it looks like the browsing history is completely erased only when the app is completely killed. This is not the behavior that a user may expect when the notification says "Browsing history erased".

Firefox Focus for Android version 8.0.8 (Build #330452036) (This seems to be the latest version of Firefox Focus available for my device) Android version 6.0

Hi

I have looked into this issue with our developers and have been advised that this is a flaw in the underlying Android platform that we have flagged with Google.

Thanks for following up. Should I close this issue or leave it open to be followed up on?

Thanks Avinash

No problem, I will close it down from here. With regards to the issue you are seeing, this should hopefully be resolved in a future update to Firefox Focus for Android.
