Using delete button removes email from inbox but does not move to deleted folder (as set in options/account settings/server settings).

Not only does the delete button not move the message to deleted folder but the message is not in any thunderbird folder. The only way I can get the message back is to log into my gmail account on the internet and go to the all mail folder in gmail where the message sits with no label; Ican then move it back to the inbox.
