Freezes while typing - using v 38 on Win8.1; when I type a message in TB, after 5-10 words, the screen freezes for 3-5 seconds.

I'm using TB v 38 - HP computer, i7, 16 GB RAM; computer seems to work fine. But when I type a letter in Thunderbird, I "lockup" every 5-10 word for 3-5 seconds. If I keep typing (hard, since I can't see what I'm typing), it "catches up" with me and then acts normally again for another 5-10 words. I have plenty of disk space and no other applications running. Any thoughts are most appreciated!

That definitely helped - thanks Mr. Mery!

Based on those results I have a request - please disable hardware acceleration at options | advanced | general and restart Thunderbird normally

Is problem still gone?

OKay, I just found Options, Advanced, General and disabled hardware acceleration and typed a test letter and it worked perfectly. Yes, it is definitely fixed. Thanks so much!
