Why does firefox go blank when I switch from fullscreen?

more options

When I switch from full screen video mode in YouTube to minimal mode, it changes to the correct screen size and the web page is as it should be for a second (or less) and then goes blank. However, the functions are still there (i.e., if I click on where the browser tabs, navigational, and video buttons would be on the screen if I could see it, they work) and the sound still works. This problem only happens to me on YouTube and no other video sites that I know of, and I do not have any problems with watching YouTube videos in Firefox as long as I keep the video minimized or, if I plan on closing Firefox immediately after, in full screen mode.

I do not have this problem in internet explorer. Also, I have unchecked "use hardware acceleration when available" in advanced options and restarted Firefox but that does not seem to help. Everything on my computer is up to date--I have the most recent NVIDIA video driver and windows updates. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. I have also tried using Waterfox but have the same problem. This was not always a problem; the problem arose somewhere between the last two Firefox updates.

I'm Using Windows 7 64bit.

Is this with the HTML5 player? You can tell which player YouTube is serving by right-clicking the media and checking the last item on the short context menu.

Does the page content appear if you force a repaint using Ctrl+ followed by Ctrl- (zoom-in-zoom-out)?
