okay firefox crashed ive been using it for 3 years on steam os . it ussually crashes normally if that makes sense but this time it went poof . it saved one window containing all my browse history bookmarks dverything , i succsessfully transfered the crashed windows to kate windows containing 2.1 megabytes of extremely important data - riht before it crashed again. i am extremely frustrated , it erased all knowledge of me ever being on firefox erasing history bookmarks log ins everything. it is extremely imperative that i get these windows back . ive been battling with ai to fix the problem my last resort is you guys the ones who made firefox. id like to think you guys built something for this exact occasion . please help, you are my last resort and i would be overjoyed if you can help , thank you ,

if you have a group of tabs shrinked, you can click on it and move it around similar to how you can move a single tab. if you move a single tab, and hover it over a tab group, tab group gets highlighted and a single tab gets added to the tab group it hovered. can't you make it so that when you hover a tab group over a single tab, the tab also gets added to that tab group, w/o the need to load the contents of the tab?

I'm wondering if there's any way to have a button toggle for a setting exposed via about:config?

The reason for my ask is that I currently use a second Firefox profile, where full-screen-api.ignore-widgets is set to True, in order to have full-screen videos inside a firefox window, meaning I can fully expand a video into the window that its open in, without taking up the entire screen. Extremely good for productivity reasons.

Now, the only slight issue that I have is that sometimes I wanna easily swap back without needing to move the video tab to my main profile - and hoping that it's possible somehow without exposing myself to lax security practices - I found it might be possible when using fx-autoconfig - but it does concern me when it states "Please note that malicious external programs can now inject custom logic to Firefox even without elevated privileges just by modifying boot.sys.mjs or adding their own script files.".

I essentially just want an true/false button for the full-screen-api.ignore-widgets setting instead of needing to swap profiles/manually enter about:config to swap the boolean value back and forth.

I purchased Dell desktop computer, Windows 11, I installed Firefox, and I made Firefox the default browser via Firefox and the computer's settings.

I selected default dozens of times. Each time it stays the default for a while and then another web browser becomes default.

I then again select Firefox as the default web browser, both ways, and it stays that way for a long time or a short time. A few minutes ago, after the selection, the settings window for the app page flashed and Firefox was no longer the default browser.

I have Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge installed for the few times that Firefox does not work on a particular website.

What gives? Thank you

i used firefox version 144 or 148 and it frequently become whitescreen "but when i put or move my cursor hover, it becomes reload the page again. but it's annoying error bugs

Help please, cannot open Firefox browser for Windows 10 Pro anymore, clicking icon advises my profile is missing. How to fix ? Hi, i'm running a ryzen 5 desktop on Linux Mint 22.3 x86_64 with no ssd so it's a little slow to load firefox 152.0.1 (64-bit) after boot. I find that occasionally the tab i am loading timesout, and if i refresh i lose the page. I have a keyboard macro to work around the issue. I lost the code for it, but iirc it works by entering this combo alt-d, ctrl-c, ctrl-v, enter that is to say if I copy the url to the buffer and re-enter it, the page will load, but will not load from the current page.

Constantly a doc, a video, a spread sheet will shrink and I'm typing and no data is being entered because the app has shrunk - and the data has to be re-entered. It's a big waste of time, effort.

I was switching computers and created a backup file. The type was html oddly. I tried to restore this backup on two different computers and both times it fails during the restore process without presenting a useful error message.

I can only guess that the file is corrupt, but it is only a guess since the error message is useless. It also seems strange that the backup didn't produce any errors (manual backup). Any suggestions?

For the last 2-3 weeks, the browser has been freezing when opening new tabs. This doesn't happen all the time, but the same tabs can open correctly or the browser stops working when they are opened. The work stops for 10-20 seconds. The browser does not respond to clicks, but if you press the Win key, the window turns bright and "not responding" appears on top of the frame. I was trying to solve this problem on my own. I ran it in safe mode, disabled hardware acceleration, updated drivers for the integrated graphics and discrete graphics card, disabled all extensions, created a new profile, reinstalled the browser completely - none of this helped, the browser still freezes when opening new tabs. I also cleaned the download history, changed the proxy settings, and disabled Windows Defender. What else can I try to do to fix the browser?
