Enabling my incoming emails. This has been failing for weeks. I reset my account with thunderbird and made a donation (thinking that was the problem) but I am still not receiving incoming emails. Tried and checked all my account settings - cannot find what the problem is. Please help.

For some time now, I've been experiencing the following issues with PiP:

• The floating window opens in a random (and annoying) place and does not place itself automatically on the lower right corner as it used to (where I always move it, so it has no memory as it used to)
• It's impossible to keep the "always on top" mode on by default, and I have to do it every single time
• When I toggle windows, the PiP window is always the next one, even when it was not the one I switched from, and I have to always toggle twice for switching between two windows when I have a 3rd PiP window
• When I change language using the keyboard shortcut, it changes the language on the PiP window, and I have to use the language icon bar. Then, the PiP window becomes activated, and I have to toggle back to the window I was working on before (on which I wanted to change language). I have the "separate languages for separate windows" option activated.

It's been some months now, and all those things were working before an update but never came back...

Does anyone know if there's a way of fixing these issues? I've tried things I found online but nothing seems to work.

New computer, new Firefox install. Old computer has the Library Icon in the upper right corner when the browser opens. I imported my bookmarks, but can't figure out how to get the Library Icon positioned.

I started getting this message today - "this page is slowing down firefox. To speed up your browser stop this page" How can I fix it other than to start using Safari.

samsung s21 has fireefox default browser and google home page. since 10am this morning 1/8/24, can not get google home page to disply, only blank page.

works ok with home pc, motorola, and on chrome on s21. verizon tech and samsung tech help are stumped. any ideas how to fix?

uninstalled, reinstalled several times, cleared data, history everything. argh!

Hello, Firefox randomly downloaded a file, with seemingly randomly name, that is 0 bytes and in download manager the source is moz-safe-about. It happened when I was accessing a popular wiki site. I opened the file in notepad, it was empty. I put it on virus total and came back negative, as it is an empty file. I've curbed through the support tickets here, using the keyphrase 'moz-safe-about'. I understand this was/is quite a common problem, but it still makes me quite worried and left a sour taste in my mouth, as I haven't understood any of the explanations. I have enabled firefox to ask me whenever it wants to save something (I have no idea why this isnt the default state). Happened on a somewhat fresh, updated win 11 installation. I'm also attaching more information here with a picture. Long story short: should I be worried? Am I overreacting and this is just some sort of a bug that occurred while getting a sites data? This is my very first post to a support community so please excuse me for any rookie mistakes and oversights.

T.B. 115.8.0 (64-bit) Windows 10 - IMAP settings with multiple domains and multiple accounts on each.

Problem/Issue: Most searches return the expected results, but in certain cases, and seems to affect mostly the sub directories in Local Folder (have not been able to replicate problems in strings found elsewhere).

Things I have already done: - Rebooted PC - Compacted the folder where the email resides - Repaired such folder - Confirmed that Global search is clicked for such folder - Opened the email to confirm that it does open and is valid (Remember that it's in Local folders so already downloaded)

E.g. Global search string "Re: New Project 25-301-623 needed into Swahili - word count 321" (which does exists in Local Folders) does not produce any results but (Deleted first character of the string) "e: New Project 25-301-623 needed into Swahili - word count 321" produced results for "New Project 25-301-623 needed into Swahili - word count 321" without the results for "Re:...". Additionally, no filters are displayed such as Location, People, etc. (Running the same search within the folder where it resides works fine.) Cutting down the string to only "Re: New Project 25-301-623" still does not find any results. Global search for string "Payable Summary for: August 2022", which resides in the same folder tested is found but no filter data available for Location, People, etc. However a search for "Project delivery for Job: 25-258-813" again residing in the same folder is found with Location, Account and People. I've tested same approach and tests on different folders to rule out Folder specific problems and behavior is the same problem.

Another example that might help in figuring things out. I tested a string of an email subject from an amazon order, which are long in nature do to # dashes, long numbers, etc. Performed a global search and the email was found but no Filters shown. Did the same search removing the end of the string "has shipped" and the email was found once again but with all Filters showing.

I hope I have been thorough enough. If any additional information is needed please let me know.

Hello, I have migrated my thunderbird onto a new windows system but I now get not automatic download of messages, the only messages I might get is if I close down Thunderbird and reopen. Get messages does not do anything - not even sure its attempting to communicate with server .

Is there anything I can do or change ? I have literally spent almost trying various things and I am the point of giving up and trying a completely different email client. There should be a seamless migration method but it appears there is not.

I can login from other web browsers, but not Firefox. What's going on?

In the last couple of days I've been unable to login to my virginmedia accounts using firefox, all other browers work fine, I can enter details no trouble but as soon as I press the blue button on their page nothing happens, cleared cookies and data for virgin but didnt help.

I sent an email with multiple BCCs and no CCs or TOs, I put myself as one of the BCCs.

I did not receive it and I do not think anybody else did as well since I asked a few people.

The email is in the sent folder. I tried forwarding the email from my sent folder to myself as CC, and that worked. I also tried fowarding as BCC, and that worked.

So what is going on? Is BCC working? How can I know for certain? Do I need to foward the email as BCCs to all my BCCs to get this to work?

There is an email app provided by xiaomi on my phone.What in the email sent by this app contains a special format of `Date` fields.It looks like that: `Date: Thu, 2 May 2024 05:55:12 UTC` It doesn't look like others' `Date: Thu, 2 May 2024 06:05:15 +0000` or `Date: Thu, 2 May 2024 10:35:14 +0800 (CST)`

but it is still conforming to standards (or is it only parsable by the JavaScript Date method?)

After I modified windows time zone and restarted thunderbird. all emails changed time so this is not a time zone problem.

But this email shown two different times in the preview and detailed pages at this moment.

So can anyone tell me if this is a bug? Thank you.

Your instructions under "help" say to click on "Firefox" and click on "preferences". When I click on Firefox the menu does NOT have "Preferences" in it. What's up with that?? And how do I clear the cache and cookies?

I keep getting the red padlock but when I tap on it it says my connection is secure and when I tap on that it shows that I’m connected to HTTPS. What’s causing this? Is my connection exposed? When i shutdown and reopen the app the red padlock goes away but I'm confused as it says 'connection is secure' either way.

As of today Cox is moving all email services to Yahoo. I have been using Thunderbird for Cox.net email. I have about 40 existing folders under cox.net. Yahoo now has Cox.net and is providing my new emails so I still have the same email address and can access it through webmail. What is the best way to transition this from the old Cox cox.net to the new Yahoo cox.net on Thunderbird and keep all existing folders? Thank You

I've been using Thunderbird for years and have never had this problem. Since the upgrade today, after I run Thunderbird once and close it I can no longer start it up again. I have to reboot or use Task Manager to kill it in order to run it. This is on Windows 11. Please help - not an acceptable workaround for long. Optionally, how do I downgrade to previous version? I should know better than allow automatic upgrades.

Adding a couple images below, when it has started successfully it shows as one of the Apps in Task Manager. When I close it, Thunderbird drops into the Background Processes but doesn't end. I have to kill it here in order to start it again.

Need to set up Thunderbird to receive emails from yahoo. Cox is transitioning emails to yahoo presently have two addresses : cliven@cox.net and daciaandclive@cox.net
