After I download a file I cannot find where to access it later. I would expect there to be a downloads folder from the menu dots drop down but there doesn't seem to be. Probably an easy answer for someone, thanks!

By default, Firefox will save files to the Download folder on your device's internal storage. This can be accessed through a file explorer app, which most Android devices include in the device out of the box.
