I was blindly trusting FF account log in & Master password are enough to protect my privacy which today I realized it is not. Even after I log out of my account, I am able to access all my saved log in without the need of entering log in details or without entering the password. Yes, I understand Master password makes it not able to see my log in details. But what 1. If I face with sudden hard ware problems on my computer.The service centre person can easily open my system & log in to any of my personal accounts. How can I ensure more privacy. 2. If I need to use a public system, what is the best way of storing/managing passwords as both FF account & MP doesn't help.

Many Thanks.

If you keep tabs open and reopen them automatically then sessionstore (sessionstore.jsonlz4) will store cookies for tabs, so website will still see you logged in.

Firefox on desktop doesn't use a Firefox Account to store the passwords (logins are stored in logins.json in the profile folder), so disconnecting doesn't make a difference for accessing the passwords in Lockwise once you have entered the MP to unlock. You need to logout by canceling a master password prompt to block access to the passwords.

You can log out from the Software Security Device (click Cancel in a master password dialog) to protect the passwords against viewing and force having to re-enter the MP again.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Passwords: "Saved Logins/Passwords"
  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Certificates -> Security Devices: Software Security Device: Log Out button

Thanks for the reply. I did LOG OUT using Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Certificates -> Security Devices: Software Security Device: Log Out button

Then I signed out my account...then restarted the firefox.

Now the status is...without any password or without any master password, I can still access my twitter/yahoo accounts etc. I need MP to sign in to Firefox account,or to see the "Saved Login" details though.

My concern not addressed.
