All my downloads thru FF lite are saved only as "downloadfile.bin" . I have tested only with PDF as of now and those PDFs are saved as "downloadfile.bin" My device is Moto g4 plus on android 8.1.0 with security patch dec 2018. FF lite is the up-to-date version. Before now, things were normal. I dont know whether this is due to FF lite update.

Hi

My phone is very similar and I would like to look into this issue further for you.

What are you trying to download? What site are you trying to download from?

I have downloaded an attachment (PDF) from gmail and i also tried with other types of attachments (like..ppt. zip., etc). All are getting downloaded only as "downloadfile.bin". But i can download all of the above normally from the same mail account on my win 10 pc using Ff.

Thanks, Emmanuel.

Ps: Sorry for my late reply.

Hi

I have just downloaded a .pdf from Wikipedia and it downloaded okay. Is it just files from your email service that are causing this issue?

Hi. Thank you for your reply.

I also have downloaded a PDF from wiki without any problem. The issue sticks only with gmail-attachments. Today's status of the problem is: Despite of attachment type (.pdf docx, jpg, etc) 1) all the attachment filenames are "downloadfile.bin" 2) it works normally with the associated app when renaming the file extension, e.g. jpg gets opened well in an image viewer app.

But the main issue is the filename (downloadfile.bin). When i download more than one attachment, i could not identify which one is what and what type is that and files are getting named as "downloadfile.bin, downloadfile-2.bin, downloadfile-3.bin.
