I just had a fake prompt to add a password to a website mimicking Thunderbird

“A fake login page at auth.tb.pro appeared while adding an Outlook account in Thunderbird. It is NOT a Thunderbird or Microsoft domain. Do NOT enter your password.”

Is this a known scammer - have others been caught by it.

I hope I avoided trouble by not responding and following the instructions I was able to get from Microsoft CoPilot to locate and remove the the dangerous cookies from my PC.

My screenshot shows the cookies that were there.

tb.pro is used for the new Thunderbird e-mail service that is in development. Are you in the pilot program? Did you click on something related to the new service? An offer to sign up for it?

That is a relief. I did not knowingly click on anything that released it and am not in a test programme.
