Recover previously synced data after resetting password

I had to reset my password after I forgot my old one and didn't realize I had made an account recovery key. Is there any way to recover the data after this if I still have the old key?

FYI. Sync isn't not a backup system. If you reset the password the sync server resets as well and anything that was there is gone.
