I have had a problem with Firefox on several computers for quite som time (a year or so) related to my Router (Asus RT-AC66U). After making firmware upgrades on the router there is a text page stating that the webpage will be updated and that I should connect to the router again. The full text in Swedish is:

"Inställningar har uppdaterats. Webbsida kommer nu att uppdateras. Ändringar har gjorts på IP-adress eller portnummer. Du kommer nu att kopplas ifrån från RT-AC66U. För åtkomst till inställningar för RT-AC66U, återanslut det trådlösa nätverket och använd den uppdaterade IP-adressen och portnumret."

However, Firefox is stuck on this page whatever I do. This behavior does not occur with IE or Edge. I would be very happy if someone could help me fix this problem.

Translation

"Settings have been updated. Website will now be updated. Changes have been made to the IP address or port number. You will now be disconnected from the RT-AC66U. To access the RT-AC66U settings, reconnect the wireless network and use the updated IP address and port number. "

So are you allowing Firefox out through the router and or built in firewall in the router firm ware ?

Try : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 59.0.2 with a Full Version Installer
