Firefox won't let me enter my primary password

I recently set up a primary password (formerly master password) to protect my saved logins. However, when I tried to enter my password to access edit my saved logins, I got a message saying that the password was incorrect.

I know that I have the correct password, because I recorded it when setting up the primary password. I wrote the password in a text file, and then ctrl+v'd it into the password box, so there is no way that the password could have been wrong.

How can I access my logins without having to reset all my logins?
