How do I migrate an existing installation of Firefox for Android to a new device? To be more specific, this would be something to the effect of a full backup of Firefox 69 on a Samsung S8 that could be restored against Firefox 69 on a Samsung S10 and result in having all settings, extensions, open tabs, history, ... everything ... restored.

Hi Paul

To start, make sure that you signed into your Firefox Account on the old device and select all data types to sync across.

Then install Firefox for Android on your new device and sign into the same account. Shortly afterwards everything will sync across.

Some items, such as open tabs will not sync, but you can send them from one device to the other using the Share option at the top of the Firefox for Android menu.

I hope this helps.

Hi Seburo, Thanks for the response. That's essentially what I'd found also. The lack of a full backup and restore, nor the ability of Firefox Sync to actually synchronize 'everything' is a huge shortcoming of Firefox for Android. I'm going to see if I can file this as an RFE/ feature request to the development team. Thanks again for the response.
