WHEN I DOWNLOADED A PDF FILE IT WAS AUTOMATICALLY SAVED AT FILE DOWNLOADS. MAYBE I ACCIDENTALLY PRESS SOMETHING AND NOW WHEN I PRESS DOWNLOAD IT OPENS THE FILE AT A NEW TAB. TELL ME HOW TO FIX IT PLEASE

i have recently acquired a new PC and want to transfer all my Firefox settings to the new PC and have two questions:- (1) What file and what location do I post the file for Homepage shortcuts which involves 4 rows x 8 = 32 shortcuts that I want to transfer to the new PC without having to do it manually. Apparently Sync wont do it for some reason that I fail to comprehend. By searching this site I have found answers that say the file "prefs.js" hold these values. However, I have copied that file from my old PC onto the new PC but no result? Where should the file be copied from and to (full path from and to)? i have used "about:profiles" but then there are paths to "default" and "root". (2) I have exported the the Bookmarks from my old PC to the new PC but in one particular case the bookmarks are not the same. In this case I have a particularly large bookmark that contains three (3) Sub-Folders plus many individual bookmarks. When importing the file it does not include all the sub-folders - only two. This baffles me because if is exported with three sub-folders I don't understand how the imported Bookmark file can be different. Any advice would be most appreciated.

I run Thunderbird on a PC, and, to free up space on Drive C:, I have moved the contents of the folder Thunderbird in Appdata to Drive D:. I then changed my Server Settings, in Thunderbird, from C: to D:, and note that any new mail is indeed now appearing there along with those already transferred. This move could save me a valuable 6 gig of space, and more in the future, however, I am unable to remove that original Thunderbird folder entirely, notably I am unable to remove the contents of the Profiles folder, as it is still linked to the application. Notably with cookies.sqlite, cookies.sqlite-shm, store.json, mozlz4, aborted-session-ping and many others, which I note some have continued to be updated. I have been unable to find any other settings in Thunderbird referring to Drive C:, other than those in Server Settings.

I could presume that if I installed another version of Thunderbird on Drive D: and maybe moved those existing contents of the Thunderbird folder on C: onto Drive D:, and made those numerous settings changes to the App it could work. But I ask is there an easier way to complete this move? How can I complete this transition of Thunderbird from Drive C: to Drive D:?

I use firefox on my android Fairphone to play podcasts and videos because I don't want to have a zillion more apps and this matches the way I use the net on my laptop anyway.

One thing that bugs me is the notification bell every time I start watching / listening, and then the notification sound when it stops.

I've checked through the android settings (version 13) but I can't find it. Is there a control in Firefox which is causing the notifications?

I need to build firefox android with an extension installed. I'm trying for ublock origin now but I'll use my own extension later. I do not plan to submit this or whatever,it'll be local. How can I do it?

Hello, I am having an issue when playing videos on youtube or youtube music on firefox (android). While I can unpause the video / music with the tab being in the background (different tab or even app is focused or even with locked screen), for some reason whenever I am currently focused on the youtube tab and leave it (lock screen, move to different tab or minimize the app to go to home screen/different app) the video will pause and I will need to unpause it again. Does anybody have a solution for this?

Why I cannot disabling this any fucking of firefox shortcuts it's a fucking shit opening stupid fonction every time I'm hit fucking ctr function open new tab or closing actual tab or open html code on actual webpage, why it's always fucking programmer decide what opening function without freely disabling this fucking stupid function? I want to work with a mouse not wit fucking keyboard. When will be able to work freely with firefox et stop to add and add and add more function?

Hi there-

On my current Dell laptop (Windows 11) I have had a recurring issue with Firefox wherein any time two sounds play at the same time (say, a Youtube video is playing in the background and I have a sound play in a browser game) it makes one of the audio channels cut out for about a second. This issue only happens with Firefox, and I previously fixed this by changing the bitrate in my audio output settings. However, after an update, this issue has returned, and the bitrate settings I was using that were able to fix this issue now doesn't allow me to play audio on Firefox at all. So now I have no way to avoid the strange bug that causes audio to cut out.

I would love some advice- is this on Firefox's end, or my computer's? Is there a driver I could install or something to avoid this bug? What causes it?

Dobrý den, na starém PC jsem měla v nastavení serveru typ POP. Aniž bych cokoliv měnila, při instalaci Thunderbird do nového PC mám najednou typ IMAP. Jak se typ serveru dá změnit? Jde mi o možnost zaškrtnutí volby Ponechat zprávy na serveru. děkuji Iva Gurecká

Can no longer send/receive email. Error message about "certificates", ports?, IMAP? settings......... Have tried various combinations and receive a variety of error massages.

I've been wanting to switch from Chrome to Firefox for the longest time, but I can't do it since surround audio doesn't seem to be supported natively in Firefox. I'm using a Logitech G733, with "Surround Audio" activated in GHub, and on Chromium based browsers, it works, I hear it when watching Youtube videos, Twitch streams..., but on Firefox, it defaults to stereo audio. I haven't been able to find any settings related to audio in Firefox, nor in the concerned websites. Is it a known issue ?

Tengo 2 perfiles para cuentas de correo distintas. He configurado Firefox para que al reiniciar se abran las últimas pestañas abiertas, sin embargo esto no funciona al abrir cada perfil. Alguna solución ?
