There is a bad Yahoo email address that pops up each time I compose an email to the same person, who has a new G-mail address. I've searched and searched for his old Yahoo address to delete it and it's nowhere to be found: All Address Books, Collected Addresses, Personal Address Book, etc.

Where else could I try? I'm using T-bird 115.14.0, 64-bit

I am a 20-year (give or take) user of Thunderbird, and it is getting almost unusable.

I am hopeful someone can help.

A lot of context....

My principal account is at Comcast (POP3; normal password), but a consulting gig has caused me to add a Outlook account (POP3; OAuth2). And I think that (along with Thunderbird updates within the past year) are the cause of my issues. And the only circumvention I have found is restarting. And yes, I have a large, multi-decade collection of e-mails in about 100 local folders.

Issues that appear intermittently:

1) Pauses (for instance, while composing e-mails) lasting up to 15 seconds where Thunderbird is unresponsive to keystrokes or other UI gestures. 2) Sometimes there are permanent "(Not responding)" lockups. Also there are times where the address book is inaccessible until Thunderbird is closed and restarted. Restarting is also the frequent cure for the persistent authentication issues. 3) Inability to access address book implicitly or via menu item 4) On start-up, generally both accounts get authenticated, but I keep getting nags to enter the Outlook password - If I ignore the nag, it pops up every couple of minutes. If I enter the password incorrectly, it tells me, but if I enter it correctly the login screen goes away, but login screen reappears within a few minutes. 5) Likely in conjunction with (4) above, I intermittently cannot send e-mails outbound to the Comcast account, with Tbird complaining about authentication; reentering the Comcast password does not help until I restart. 6) If (5) above happens, when I restart Tbird, I have to reenter Comcast passwords, even though I always select "remember password" 7) nstmp folders keep getting created.

The recent upgrade to 128.1.1esr (64-bit) has left a bug that I cannot find a way to correct. The unified folders feature is very slow and prone to freeze. In particular, when I attempt to delete emails from the Junk or Trash folders, I cannot do so. Right clicking on any of the accounts of the primary unified folder does not reveal the menu. The program will freeze for several seconds and then may even open up a new instance of TB. The regular account folder work fine.

I responded to a message when opening my Thunderbird email program that asked to "compact now" - I did and my "Trash" has been a huge mess since. When I try to delete a message in the trash there are some that suddenly add many former messages. I then cannot delete that message and have to go to "Force quit" on my IMac for Thunderbird. This I have "reported" numerous times with no help appearing ever. This terrible behavior of my email program that I have used now for over 2 decades is consuming a huge amount of unproductive time. When this refusal to respond on clicking "delete" in the trash there is a long wait time until I can restart an begin work again. Clicking on "Compact now" promised to work "without changing your messages." - clearly not true! Please help. Is there a way to back out of "Compact folders automatically..."?

I had been using Thunderbird for many months with no issues. One day I tried to access email and the email folders were all empty, and in the lower right was a message "need password" I entered the password several times, and it was rejected. I deleted that email account and re-entered information, each time Mozilla found the account on the server, but will not accept the password. NOTE: I was able to create an account both with Outlook and Yahoo mail using the exact same user/password. I also have 2 other email accounts on Thunderbird, both are functioning fine. Is there something preventing me from creating this particular email account? The server is ATT and they used Yahoo for email.

I am running a clean install of LMDE6 and Flatpack Thunderbird 128.2.0 it keeps crashing, I switched to LMDE6 from LM22, to get a stable enviornment and TB128.2 still crashes. There should be a bunch of crash reports. I am not at the computer right now but at work. I wanted to find out if the crash reports are pointing at anything in particular that I could do. I know I have about 9Gigs of email but I use TB to track all messages for my local church. I also have many emails that I need to keep.

Mailing List Error

I receive the following error message for a mailing list that has worked forever, until the last update.

All <> is not a valid email address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the email.

I type in the group email name it displays All <All> in the "To" field, then when I hit send, it changes to All<> and pops up the error.

There are no spaces or special characters in the mailing list name, simply three letters. This is very frustrating, I am running a business and need this feature to work.

I have read existing articles and found nothing that helps.

What in the world do I need to do to get it working again?

Just updated to version 128 from an old version of Thunderbird. I notice that the number displayed for total messages in the Unified Inbox is much more than the number of messages in my 5 account's inboxes. Then I noticed that when I deleted messages in 'sent' folders, the total that is displayed in the Unified Folders Inbox. The total shown for Unified Folders Sent folders is also much more than the sum of the individual folders

I'm using Thunderbird to write artist newsletters.

This involves a lot of formatting & design. I'm currently in the habit of composing my email in Thunderbird, copy-pasting the images into place, resizing them, taking screenshots of them, and then copy-pasting THAT into their place so that I'm not rudely sending lots of massive high-resolution images through email. But that's a little tedious and still leads to emails several MB large. So I'd like to swap that out for remote images, but doing all that AND uploading them to a server and copying the URL for each strikes me as even more tedious and time-consuming, which is a drag on my writing process.

Is there any way that I can get Thunderbird to automatically upload images to a specified server before sending?

Hi all,

I'm on TB 128.1.1esr on Windows 10. I recently ported my profile from Debian and everything seems to be working fine except I can't change the route or path to the sound file I was using on linux for new emails, which reads:

file:///home/myusername/Documents/r2d2/r2d2.wav

I want to use that same wav file, but when I click on the "browse" button to set the new route in Windows 10, nothing happens. Other than that, sound is working fine on windows and the rest of the Thunderbird functions seem to be working fine too. Any ideas appreciated, have a good one!
