My e-mail address is as4625@charter.net My wife's is ann4625@charter.net We have used Thunderbird for several years and all of a sudden it is no longer coming in on our desktops but does come in on my cell phone. HELP PLEASE Andrew Simmons

I have a profile set that uses IMAP and need to change this to POP. I have tried changing the settings and tried creating a new profile by exporting folders and files but nothing is working correctly.

One problem I have is that in the IMAP profile I now have a second email address that is the same address name but is a POP setup. This is confusing. When I use the POP email to export and then import into a new profile I again get two email addresses in the folder panel of the new profile and one of them does have folders but they are empty.

Below is a screen shot of the original IMAP Profile. The upper address has folders but they are now blank because I pasted them in the lower address. I have tried selecting/highlighting the lower address for exporting but when I do I get the two addresses but the folders are empty/blank.

I have two Tbird accounts pmcreativeservices@rcn.com has been mine for 20 years, and it's what I use for bills, banking, etc. The other account is PatriciaRosemoor@rcn.com and is only used to collect messages that come from my author website. Yesterday, I got a message from someone who tried but couldn't put a book up at Amazon and asked if there was something I could do about it. My trying to send her a message via the PatriciaRosemoor account is what started requests for my Primary Password. One a minute after I cancelled the last one. I tried the two passwords I knew I had, but neither worked. I got a request for a new password so I did that and it didn't work either. I kept going back to it all day yesterday uselessly. I found directions of what to do online, but it didn't match up with my Settings information. Please, if you can tell me how to fix this, I would be grateful. Or, if I can keep the thousands of emails I probably have, I could try deleting the account and recreating the account. The problem would be how to bring all my saved emails back. I can print e-mail, but not the attachmnet since yesterday. So I contacted HP-support, but it is not the printer. The last attachment I printed was before the last update of thunderbird. What can i do?

This is the message I get when I try to send a message. Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <budguinn@charter.net> sender rejected. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

I reported this to you by last Friday but I have received no response so far. After reporting to you, I tried all possible trouble tests and checks, then took following steps. 1 - I deleted my copy of Thunderbird from my PC 2 - I loaded a new copy of Thunderbird - all went well 3 - But situation remains, the program opens, reacts very slowly to commands but I can not get into any functions. I'm currently making a custom theme for Thunderbird for my own personal use. I've gotten pretty much everything how I want it to look – except the main content. I prefer light mode for accessibility, and currently it's stuck in dark mode everywhere (my settings menu, calendar, mailbox, etc).

The first image is how it currently looks, and the second is how I want it to look (the black boxes are there to block sensitive info). What would I need to add/edit in my manifest.json and/or style.css to get there?

Some of the messages in my inbox show the wrong information in the "from" and "correspondents" columns. Is there a way to get the correct information from the message to be displayed?

I want to configure an automatic response to emails that have been forwarded to me from a particular address. I have created a template for the response and it is saved in the Templates folder. I then attempted to create a Filter Rule to send the response. I believe there should be a Reply with Template option in the Perform these action pull-down, but there isn't. I've attached a screen shot to illustrate this.

I'm using Thunderbird 154.0 and Windows 11. Is there a new way of achieving my objective?

I had to recently change my password on my shaw email account. Now thunderbird won't download my emails. I changed the password in the account settings to match the shaw email account password but I keep getting an error message: "Host contacted, sending login information..." and then after a long delay the error message reads "Login to server pop.shaw.ca with username ... failed". Any idea what I'm doing wrong by simply changing the password? I think this happened before and some wonderful human on this forum told me I had to put something before the password or click/unclick a particular box, but I can't find that old answer to my previous question. Thanks in advance for any help someone can offer!

The 'new' Thunderbird doesn't allow a password entry in server setup and will not prompt me for one. It pops up a Windows toaster message saying it can't connect - obviously. I set the advanced options to not remember the signon but still no success.

A few days ago I sent emails and did not see the usual "Saving to Sent (IMAP)". Instead it said something like saving to Sent folder. That's fine, but the emails didn't appear in my Thunderbird Sent folders. I downloaded Thunderbird to see if my version was obsolete. Still no emails in Sent folder. The internet said I could delete my Sent folder, and Thunderbird would re-establish Sent folder. It did not. I can still see my old emails in my Local Thunderbird sent mail, so I deleted about 100 old emails in case the folder was too full. Still, the new emails I was sending did not appear. I checked with a few recipient people and they told me the email go to them. I have tried all the "solutions" I can find. What else can I do to see copies of my outgoing emails.?

I have had Thunderbird from the time I acquired my Mac computer. This week it started to do something new. After a restart I opened Thunderbird. A box came up that says across the top System Integration. The cursor balloons, and hasn't stopped for the time I powered the computer, as least fifteen minutes. You know how the program icons are in a dock across the bottom. With other browsers open, hitting the Thunderbird icon doesn't bring its window into the forefront. This needs either a reset, or possibly a backup first. Is there a quicker way to fix this? Thanks in advance. I am not using a VPN; but I also have Thunderbird on my Windows 11. You might have seen a more recent thread on that installation. I included a screenshot. It was easier here to do that than on the Windows 11. On the Mac, I just had to use Activity Monitor to close out of Thunderbird in order to get its version.

Ever since last maj, windows are no longer resizable. Same Thunderbird version works OK on my laptop running Debian 12, but I cant easily upgrade version Debian 11 to debian 12 on this older desktop, so I wonder whether I could possibly de-install v140.13.0esr and re-install an older version, if then, which one would be suitable and available. If not, is there another trick to resize windows on v140.13.0esr ? Thanks in advance for your help.

Every 10 minutes, your Thunderbird app generates an attachment (nmsa) that McAfee deems a Trojan and quarantines it. I get 15-20 popups from mcafee every hour. If I close Thunderbird it stops. What can i do to stop this from happening?

Back when W110 went to w11 I got a new computer and was given great directions here to back up my TB profile by searching %appdata% and copy the thunderbird folder to external source. That file is 198 MB. I do this every month now ..It is my understanding it saves my profile and all emails including local ones. Now in Aug 2026 when i copy this file, I am getting an error a file is too long and have no choice but to skip that file..I will attach a pic of the error. Is this back up ok to use or is it corrupt because of the error?

I also found in TB help there is an export feature in TB to a zip file but that .zip is huge..I did one just in case. I think you just open TB>select hamburger menu three lines on top right>tools>export. I did that back up/export also today and that is a .zip file folder that is less properties like 175 MB.

So now which way is the correct way to keep a safe copy of my TB in case my computer crashes or i have to put on another pc?
