Why does a radio station I listen to not work in FF, but does in Chrome?

The radio station directs me to this website: http://betaplayer.radio.com/listen/station/sports-radio-66-wfan-ny. It currently works fine in Google Chrome. I don't receive an error or any message in FF, but I see the buffering like it's trying to load, but it never does. All my plugins beside VLC Multimedia Plug-In are updated, but I don't think that's the problem at all. Any thoughts are appreciated.

This happens in Safe Mode?

Try clear your recent history:

I go to site and I could listen the radio after one vid, it happens with you?

I tried restarting Firefox in safe mode, and tried the radio station website again, but nothing changed. I've cleared my recent history too, but that never seems to help anything. I've never reset Firefox, because I don't want to screw up my browser, and I feel that a reset won't enable this radio station website to function properly; but what do I know... This is happening on both of my desktops, so I'm not sure what's going on. Advice and suggestions will hopefully help me solve this issue.

I'm not getting that player to work in Firefox as well, so it looks that the JavaScript code that initializes the player isn't compatible with Firefox.

The Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) shows this error:

  • TypeError: a.transport is null

Thanks cor-el. Isn't this a pretty blatant error with Firefox? I mean, the station runs through radio.com, which is not some 3rd rate radio station website. I see that "vulnerable" message on the Firefox plugin updates page, which they are aware of. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the Java issue. I know you're a moderator, but is Firefox aware of this issue and taking the appropriate steps to remedy it?

Yes it does not work for me, and I see that error also.

The site is pretty heavy with scripts, trackers, and Flash advert content. I guess one clue is in the link name betaplayer probably indicating it is still in development. I also got cross site scripting warnings, so maybe addblockers, scriptblockers or security software affects this.

I found this old support article

The email form is looking for language and location information. I also note that I would be blocked anyhow and so it is probably intentional.

Why can't I listen to your stations outside of the US?

Unfortunately due to legal/licensing reasons we are not allowed to stream outside of the US.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

I am not within the USA.

The player works for me in Google Chrome (I see a start/stop button instead of the rotating loading GIF) and I do get the sound and doesn't work for me in all Firefox versions that I tried.

Hello co-rel. John provided a link to a radio.com customer service support form that I filled out, but I probably won't receive a response until next week, I hope. Although this is a Firefox issue, are there any steps I can take to "fix" the player or does Firefox have to correct this with an update?

The link provided in the initial question post works for me. I am able to load the stream and I get a loading then a stop button to press. Seems to work fine here for me..
