Firefox is opening a new tab and directing me to "http://weeklywinner.s3.amazonaws.com/winner.html". It doesn't seem to be doing any harm to my computer, its just rather annoying. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox but this doesn't seem to work.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

It's very annoying! Nothing so far is working to stop the pop up messages!

Seriously? Nothing yet? I've had this problem for close to a month now. It slipped right past both Windows Defender and AVG. I tried different anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-spyware programs, registry fixing, deleting and reinstalling firefox.. My pc is running at 10% the speed it did before this wal-mart prize/google redirector showed up. HELP

I THINK IT WORKED: I've tried everything too: Spybot, adaware, AVG, trendmicro. I finally tried Microsoft Security Essentials (Free), which took care of some of it, and then tried microsoft live ONECARE which fixed some registry problems. Be prepared for a VERY long scan... hours. Here is the link:

http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

After the scans I went to the site where I had problems before, with no indication of a redirect.

UPDATE:Same problem reoccurred! The above didn't work... Sorry!
