Hey there,

I have been using the arrow keys to scroll pages more and more often and was wondering if there is a way to increase / decrease the speed when holding down the arrow keys to scroll the page?

Thanks in advance. :)

You can look at these prefs on the about:config page to set the scrolling behavior with the keyboard and possibly set them to '1' (zero).

  • toolkit.scrollbox.horizontalScrollDistance
  • toolkit.scrollbox.verticalScrollDistance

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. On the warning page, you can click "Accept the Risk and Continue" to open about:config.

Turn off the scroll lock on Windows computers

One of the most common reasons you may not use the arrow keys is you've turned on the scroll lock. Look for the scroll lock button on your keyboard to see if you've enabled it. The button usually lights up. Press this button to disable it.

This indeed changes the behaviour for most pages.

There are some odd ones that seem to not change with the setting, but I can live with that.

Thank you :)
