Hello,

At home, I have 1 computer running under Windows 8, with Thunderbird 52.9.1 32 bits.

At my office, I have 6 computers running under Windows 7, with Thunderbird 52.9.1 32 bits.

The same extensions are installed on all computers.

Last Sunday evening for my home pc, and last Monday morning for 2 pcs (out of 6) at my office, it happened the following :

- Clicking on the Send button did nothing, the clicking was inactive - Clicking on the Save button (in order to save a draft mail) did nothing, the clicking was inactive

For those 3 (1+2) computers, running Thunderbird in safe mode allowed the sending of mails (and saving of drafts). But after running in normal mode again, the Send and Save button were again inactive

On one computer I tried to install the 60.2.1 Thunderbird version, but it did not solved the matter.

I thank you in advance for any suggestion to try to fix the problem.

Patrick

Hello,

I thank you for your help.

I realized that the trouble came from one extension. On some computer the extension had been automatically updated. One some other computers the update was not yet done.

That is why Thunderbird worked on some computers and did not work on some others.

Everything is now fixed.

Thank you again for your help.

If it works in safe mode, there are a number of reasons why it doesn't work in normal mode. Incompatible add-ons or broken layout are the most likely causes. See the kb article for instructions on how to test the possibilities, e.g. check 'Reset toolbars and controls' to repair a broken layout.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

1- I could not find the 'Reset toolbars and controls' kb.

2- Just to make sure that my mail was cleared enough (as English is not my native language). The same add-ons are installed on computers where Thunderbird Send button stopped working and on computers where Send button still works. On computers, where the Send button stopped working, the layout is still the same as it was before the bug occured.

Thank you again for any help.

When you launch in safe mode, a small window appears. Select 'Reset toolbars and controls' and click 'Make changes and restart'. See if that makes the buttons work properly.
