Hello,

As soon as I made the choice to use a Master Password to protect my stored passwords, Firefox version 54.0.1 (32-bit) running under Windows 10, with the latest updates, Firefox started failing to deliver web sites. I will get Server Not Found pages, while all other browsers (Edge, Opera, Chrome, and Safari) could log in and serve the web sites I visited.

As soon as removed the Master Password, Firefox came back and started working perfectly.

What is going on?

When I went to my GMail email account, Firefox asked for my Master Password and when I canceled that, FireFox did not enter the saved password for my Gmail account.

Is that what happens when you use a Master Password?

Thanks for any insight as to what should I do to make Firefox work for me.

You need to enter the Master Password the first time per session; Firefox won't ask again for as long as you keep Firefox open. You need to be careful if you walk away from your computer when Firefox is running; anyone can view your passwords and the autocomplete function will continue to work.

That is how the Master Password feature works.

That is not expected behavior. Setting a master password shouldn't affect visiting web pages. The master password is only used to login to the software security device (Password Manager) and is needed to decrypt the passwords.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
