What article were you looking at on support.mozilla.org ?
Since you have a Mac OSX Firefox useragent it should give you a version of article made for Mac users and not for Windows.
The Tools >Options is for Firefox on Windows, Edit >Preferences on Linux, and for Mac OSX users it is Firefox > Preferences.
Or if you have what looks like a three line hamburger menu then Preferences.
