Firefox crashing when going to webpage
We have a user that has Firefox installed on his machine (40.0.02) and whenever Firefox opens, it crashes instantly. This only started happening today.
I've tried loading it in Safe Mode but that crashes.
Completed a fresh install (deleted profiles, uninstalled and check both 'Program Files' folders) and I get a slightly different result.
The Firefox client loads and seems fine, until you try to navigate to a webpage such as google.com for example. Then you get the crash like before and if you close it and go back in, it instantly crashes like it was when the user first notified me about the issue.
Has been working fine up until now and no updates/patches went out over the weekend.
Any ideas?

Did you view the Crash Reports? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-asking-support
There are no reports generated (no folder)
Obviously can't get to them through the client either
Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

Hi
I will try this first thing tomorrow morning - I will have the users laptop all day and I'll post here how it goes.
Thank you!
Okay, it seemed to work in safe mode. Unfortunately I didn't have the users login details but fortunately my account got the issue too, which suggest it's not profile related.
It might be worth mentioning, after a fresh install the client doesn't seem to crash with the network settings set to 'use systems proxy settings'. We need it to be set to automatically detect proxy settings for it to work. Seems that after that it has its initial crash. So it definitely seems to be triggered by attempting to go to a webpage, through the proxy.
