Address bar suggestion drop down no longer accepts a left click to auto complete and goto url, instead left click is forcing a generic search.

Using firefox 31.0, following update I seem to no longer be able to left click a suggested url for it to auto-complete and GOTO...

I am happy to recheck all about:config again, as part of getting to the route of this "issue", ..

In fact I will try anything, I have tried a fresh install of firefox, this has not worked, however the "feature" I am trying to describe still works under safe mode, which means I think that there has to be something that is incorrect in my config.

Thank you all in advance for any pointers tips... and possible resolve offered.

Hi ScoobTheNoob, I am bad a rhyming, but Safe Mode essentially only disables add ons. I would disable them one by one to find the culprit.

Have tried with all add ons disabled...

But thanks for the response.

In order to change your Firefox Configuration please do the following steps :

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
  3. Search for autocomplete and set browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled to true and browser.urlbar.autofill set tot true

If you start to type in the url bar then hit the down arrow, then hit enter, does this open a new page with the selected entry?

If this is not the case, does a new profile do the same thing: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

Again thank you for your response and whilst i did not detail the above resolve in my question, both these values are set to true.

Whilst I have enabled again all extensions. And checked about:config..

Here is a nice big raw data dump. http://pastebin.com/TTRPbZVC

Before I go for reset under about:support...

Hey ScoobTheNoob, Could it be an extension? If you do not want to reset it is possible to test a new profile that will have the defaults. Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

Firefox Reset would eliminate the about:config as well.

Whilst it could be an extension, if it is it is one that has a serious behaviour issue as the problem still manifests with all extensions and plug ins disabled..

Think I will just have to force a reset and then re-enable the can't live without extensions.

Thank you for your time in responding..

ScoobTheNoob, did you see improvements when you did this?
