I've searched but haven't found an answer that leaves me comfortable with how to address my question(s). Hoping someone here can help. While trying to update Firefox FROM version 115.0.3 TO version 115.12.0esr I ran into some problems that prevented me from using/adding bookmarks. While I believe I've solved the problems, I found the following info worth questioning.

By selecting Firefox's "Application Menu->Help->More Troubleshooting Information->Profile Folder->Open Folder" I find that I have:

• 10,000 AlternativeServices files as text documents
• 312 'serviceworker' files as text documents, and
• 3,134 'SiteSecurityState' files as text documents.

I'm wondering if I need them? Doubt that I do, but 'fresh eyes' seldom hurt. Can I delete them all without harm or data loss?

This is on a Gateway P-7811FX laptop, (yes, a bit old, but it was a workhorse in its day and still works well), with IntelCore2 Duo CPU @ 2.26 GHz 2.27GHz running Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) with 8 GB of memory

About 2 weeks ago a Forge of Empires maintenance update "broke" certain aspects of FOE Helper ver. 3.10.1.0 According to the FOE Helper programmers these problems were corrected with ver. 3.11.1.0. The new version was released to the Chrome browser on 3/6/25.

As I understand it FOE Helper ver. 3.11.1.0 is in some from of internal review within the Mozilla organization before it can be released to the Firefox browser.

I, and many other Firefox users, would appreciate having some information as to when we might expect the FOE-Helper extension ver. 3.11.1.0 to be released to Firefox.

I have not been on my computer in 6 months. Everything seems to have change. (1) how do I sign in easily. (2) who is running this site? What important information do I need to use this site again? It looks entirely different now. How is the best way to become comfortable with this site again. Thank you for any help you can provide.

I want to downgrade to a previous version without having to create a new profile. I don't want the Firefox logo on the default new tab page, and I tried to change it in the about:config list but that didn't work even after a complete computer restart. It worked in the previous version. I do not want to create a new profile. My current one is just fine. How can I do that? Thank you!

Hi. I am trying to update my firefox. i have been getting a pop-up saying that I need to do this. However, I forgot my password so I now I sign in using my Apple account. When I get a small sign-in box to fill in it shows my user name as Gale Miller (my name) and not my email address. Then it rejects my new password. Please advise. Thank you, Gale

I'm used to manually update firefox browser on my windows 10 pc, everything was fine before, but I found a strange situation about two weeks ago, the situation has occurred twice so far --

For the previous version, I manually download update in settings, firefox browser can be restarted but not updated after clicking restart firefox button, and an error notificaion firefox being updated by another instance appeared instead of 'check for updates button, then the update process started when I exit firefox browser and reopened it.

For the latest version, the strange situation occurred again when I tried to manually update firefox browser, the only difference is that I don't see the error notification from last time.

Why does the situation happen? Do it cause any risk? How can I fix it?

Firefox will not open in my Windows 11 desktop; is Microsoft playing games with non-Microsoft applications or is there a problem with my browser? fresh install does not help! last week I had to reset Windows 11 because nothing would open in my desktop...... reloading all my application is not near the top of my wish list having already done it twice! all the Microsoft stuff opens fine; even my copy of Office 2003?
