I Updated to Your Latest Thunderbird (Default) Update: And Now I Can't Open Addresses in A-Separate Window.... So I went Back to Previous Installation: And Now It Can't Find my Original Histrionic Emails on my D:Drive... I'm Trying to Reinstall my Original Version: And It's now Looking for mt Emails (which Don't Exist) On my C:Drive... Hi. Since the Thunderbird update in March/2026, my Bell sympatico.ca email is no longer able to send emails out through Thunderbird. No error messages but emails never get to destination (I tried sending to myself on both gmail and sympatico accounts). I receive emails without issue. I tested the sympatico from the web or my iPhone and it works. Seems something changed in T-bird back in March?

I validated the Outgoing SMTP server settings and all seems OK (See attached file for screenshot of settings). Any idea why and what changed to cause this?

Changed p/w as solution no help Today for some reason Thunderbird won`t download from xfinity. Worked well yesterday,been on phone with xfinity about 1 hr. or so. restart pc no help

I changed my email password on the providers web site, my phone, tablet both asked for the new password but Thunderbird has not, why can I still send and receive email ?

And don't see a place to change the server password either, I thought it would just ask.

Everything working just fine last night. Wake up and Thunderbird will not retrieve emails.

Remembered this old message I got so I went through and deleted my second email address, didn't help.

Checked all settings compared to Yahoo, still won't download messages. I can even send a message with my current settings no problem, and it does login, just won't retrieve emails. Gives me a connection timeout.

Anyone have any ideas?

IMAP accounts, every time I open Thunderbird it has to authenticate and down load all my email; why isn't my all my current email available? And yes in settings I have "Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer" checked. And yes in "Advanced" settings all folders are checked.

Thunderbird installed a new version and would not open until I created a new profile. Now all my locally saved email is missing. The only profile I can find is the new one for my email account, dated April 2026. Where is the old profile with all my saved emails? I have no email older than April 2026 in my Inbox. POP3 email, saved to my desktop computer, is gone. Please help me find them.

As long as I've used TB, which is many years now, I've had no complaints. I have absolutely no desire to change to a different program.

That being said, I'm at wits' end with the recent issue of Notification Sound Alerts (NSA) upon delivery of a new message. Simply stated, beginning about 6 or 8 months ago, the NSA seem to simply work whenever they want to. I can go a month or two at a time and receive the NSA, and then suddenly one day, NSA will stop functioning on its own. This "pause," we'll call it, will last 4 or 5 months, then then suddenly begin to work again.

I have attempted every imaginable fix as recommended in this forum. There's no need to list them all, because I've made every suggested adjustment that's been recommended. But there's no rhyme or reason to why the NSA will work as programed for a period, and then decide on its own to stop working.

I don't know if this is a glitch in TB that is simply beyond my feeble attempts to rectify, or if any other TB users are experiencing the same issue. I have even gone so far as to attempt to find an Add-On that will supplement the NSA. However, none that I have uncovered, particularly those suggested in this Forum, seem to be compatible with either the version of TB or Windows 10. I understand that Win 10 is not longer supported in the forum, but please! I do not want to migrate years of email files to another program. I want to use TB but simply need to be "Alerted" when new messages hit the Inbox.

Any assistance or suggestions (except those basic adjustments that proliferate the forum, i.e insure the sound mixer is not muted, etc, etc) would be greatly appreciated and thanks for listening.

Greetings, I'm some insight on having to constantly enter my password (ISP) to download email messages. Ever since I can remember when I started Thunderbird I would enter my ISP password for my accounts once and it would download the messages as long as Thunderbird was running. I think after a Thunderbird update, now every 10 minutes when Thunderbird checks for new email messages I'm prompted to enter my ISP password. I do not tell Thunderbird to remember my password and I'm not sure what has changed to cause this, any insight is appreciated!
