Is it possible to make Thunderbird make better use of screen realestate on large devices such as tablets?

In my opinion it should be possible to get a view that is more similar to the desktop version, where the content is laid out in 3 columns:

1. List of accounts and mailboxes
2. List of messages in the selected folder/mailbox
3. The email/message that has been selected.

See attached for what it looks like in the gmail app, for comparison. On Gmail they only have two columns, but even on there it's making effective use of the space.

1) There is a layout problem in the accounts display on the left hand side, where the email addresses are sometimes obscured by the titles of the pages (see screenshot). 2) Also, is it possible to adjust the labels of so that they reflect the initials of two-word titles? So Websites Wanted would be WW, not WE, and Prague Story PS, not PR? Or even upload avatars instead of lettered labels? Thanks!

Hi, I just started using Thunderbird for Android and - so far - I am loving it. One thing I cannot seem to figure out is how to change the color scheme of the widget. Is it even possible to change it? I would like to set it to use the same dark theme I have for other widgets, but the Thunderbird widget stubbornly keeps its white background.

On the PC version you can trust a sender and allow the download of images with that sender's emails The Android version seems to default, sensibly, to making you accept images each time Is this likely to change?

I have set all Notifications on (there seems to be a dozen on/off switches) but new emails do not trigger a marker on the Thunderbird logo or any other form of notification I have to open Thunderbird just to get new messages to download Is there a setting I need to change?

Bonjour à tous, Je cherche comment afficher images distantes par défaut. Jusque là, elles sont cachées et un message s'ajoute : les visualisation des mails ouverts est inutilement compliquée (à mon sens, le principe de sécurité, annoncé à chaque fois à ce sujet, n'est pas adapté.). Merci de m'aider à grive fer le moyen de mettre automatique des "images distantes" par défaut 😊. Bonne journée !

Currently we can send or reply to emails as plain text on Thunderbird for Android. Can we please update it to allow viewing Emails as plain text (disabling HTML) as on the desktop versions of Thunderbird, to allow for easier viewing of emails with formatting?

In the older K-9, when one changed the active account, the inbox for the newly selected account would just be shown immediately. No need for any other operations on my part.

Now I have to tap on the inbox to get there. This seems an awful nuisance and offers little to anyone, I suspect.

Is there some way to get the old K-9 behavior?

In V.10, it used to be I had to really swipe all the way left for delete to occur.

Now in V.13 only a small/partial movement deletes.

This is tool easy to mis-trigger. Please go back.

The Delete button (I've just begun using Thunderbird for Android) sends email to Delete-land: gone for good. There is no way to reprogram it to send to Trash. One can, alternatively, hide it on the main screen by setting swipes left and right to None. But it is still there in the Read screen....and potentially dangerous. If you try to set a swipe to Trash rather than Delete, there is no Trash option. So you have to set it to Move and choose Trash each time. This reduces the utility of Tbird Android and means you have to be extra-careful when reading emails.

Also, no way to reduce image sizes (by percentage) when attaching large picture files...unless you reduce them in advance in an image processing program.

I have install Thunderbird for android in a search to change the primary gmail app. I have found a "problem" for me. When I received a mail from gmail or yahoo i don't have any option to delete that email with the help of my watch. I have option to remove(notification) ,mark as read, spam and some others but i don't have the option to delete that email with the watch. I need to go to my phone and delete that email manually from the phone. On the gmail app i have that option.
