Hi,

The newest Firefox has an issue with properly parsing the javascript links in the ACS research journal articles. In these research articles, citations are clickable numbers in parenthesis. Clicking on them leads to a pop-up frame that gives detailed reference article information.

However, with the latest version of Firefox these citation links will only respond properly to the first click ever on the page. After you close the pop-up frame, any subsequent clicks on any of these links will have no response.

I attach an example article below. This bug has been repeated under Trouble Shoot Mode and I do not encounter the same issue with Chrome brower. https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jacsau.2c00048

I cannot log on to one particular forum account in Firefox. https://www.corvetteforum.com/

Other browsers work OK. In the past I could login fine. How do I correct this.

In my attempt to better organize my BOOKMARKS, having regained access following a PC compromise, I now no longer have the BOOKMARKS I so much would like to organize as I want. How can I now again gain access to and improve upon a 5 day old set of BOOKMARKS?

Please provide STEP by STEP instructions to regain access to the now 5 day old set of BOOKMARKS and any helpful info related to this task.

Latest version of FireFox for MacOS on Sonoma 14.7.1. When I go to YouTube it just shows greyed out boxes. When using private mode, it works fine.

I've tried clearing cache, switching off AdBlock, etc.

YouTube works fine on other browsers.

Any suggestions?

I'm not exactly sure how to describe this, but I will do my best. I've noticed that since updating to version 132.0.1 of Firefox that something seems to be odd with the way the browser is behaving with Youtube. Specifically, the back button isn't behaving as it should. Instead of taking me back to a previous page/video, the back button fades out as if it had indeed gone back to a previous page on the site, but doesn't actively take me to that page. I have to reload the page to get back to that previous page. This, so far, has not occurred on any other website I visit. I'm not sure if this is a glitch in Youtube or in Firefox, however given that this seems to be localized to Youtube, I'm wondering if it's an issue in Youtube that is somehow specific to Firefox itself. I tried this on my phone, and the issue isn't happening there, just on my laptop's version of the browser. This issue was not present in the previous version of Firefox, so I'm not sure what's going on. I am on an older build of Windows 10 as my machine seems incapable of updating to a later build of the OS, but I don't believe this is the cause either since other websites I've visited do not have this issue, so far as I can tell.

Can anyone help in regards to this issue? I'm honestly stumped as to why this is happening and why it seems to be specific to Youtube only.

Is it possible to reconnect without the sign in process?

I keep getting a firefox upload display for a old file explorer. I should be showing the current file explore data. Why am I getting the message 'firefox upload and not just file explorer. The bank I use, requires a Username and a PW AND a number generated from what they call a token and I call a dongle. For the last while, on Firefox, I can get in. No problem, The moment I get the 'pay a beneficiary' screen I am 'chucked off' as it has 'timed out'. Second logon goes fine and I have no further problems. If I change the browser, so NOT Firefox, (and not Chrome) no problem at all. Not chucked off. I have used the internet bank and system for years, withe Firefox. Firefox is my browser of choice (it's a long story), so I'd like to continue. The bank's could-not-care-less attitude was 'use Chrome'. 1.I dislike Chrome & 2.How can my bank dictate what browser I use?

Hello, I have an issue while trying to log in to my Firefox account on another PC. Password is correct, authorization code sent to my email is correctly entered too. When I submit the code the login forms returns error message "Invalid authorization code". What's the problem?

I switched to using Firefox about six weeks ago, from Chrome. At first, it all worked perfectly. Now, I have a 100% reproducable problem: YouTube "short" videos never play. It will display the video player in the proper aspect ratio, and displays the overlayed text from the video's thumbnail and other meta data, but the actual playing of the video fails with a message typically like:

An error occurred. Please try again later. (Playback ID: C8SVj-KCLVM2m_DW)

Windows 11, current patched. on serious Core I9 system with 32 GB of ram, fast video card, etc.

Regular YouTube videos display perfectly. Using Google Chrome browser works perfectly.

The help message talks about clearing cache, but I can't seem to find that. I can see how to delete site-specific cookies and data. I really don't want to clear all cookies for all sites.

I get an access denied error page when trying to login to anything at att like email or myatt. Such links are also not working from the "currently" page. All other tabs sites work fine. And I can get my att email on my phone just fine too. What is the problem/fix?

Setting for "Download" FORCE duplicate saving of ALL downloads. I have tried every setting combo possible AND set 'ASK" for ALL files but NO MATTER what FOLDER I chose to download a file to it ALWAYS saves a DUPLICATE in my DOWNLOAD folder. In settings it is IMPOSSIBLE to leave the "Where to Save" Field EMPTY. I download MANY FILES a day and this requires me to VERIFY 1) did the file really go to MY selected choice and the time of download and is the DUPLICATE that was FORCED to my "DOWNLOAD" folder actually go ONLY there. I've had an issue on my Mac Mini since (I think) I bought it ~1.5 years ago. Firefox essentially stops responding randomly. When it happens, I can usually still scroll through the page, but I'm unable to click on any links on it. Other things like hovering over things that might change color also stops working. When it happens, it happens to all tabs that are open. It usually eventually comes back on it's own after a couple minutes. The weird thing is as soon as I load any other external application, even something as simple as Settings or Preview, Firefox will immediately spring back to life. Only a couple common addons (Ublock Origin) but it happens even with all add-ons disabled. It's sporadic, sometimes I can go all day without it happening, other times it happens every few minutes.

It's persisted through 3 different OS upgrades and countless Firefox versions. I've tried everything I can find about troubleshooting Firefox on mac and nothing works. It's not a resource thing as it happens with only Gmail open sometimes and Firefox being the only thing running. I'm at a loss and looking for anything that might help. I've never seen this issue on other Macs I've used Firefox with.

Firefox is constantly (in some cases up to 12 x per incident) showing a pop up window asking for permission (allow or deny, until quit or forever etc) to connect to a website or address. Example: at website even when allowed forever it begins all over again when click further down the page or go to another page. Using a Mac os catalina and latest firefox.

My Firefox 132.0.1 64-bit Windows 10 doesnt remember my settings, as e.g. home page. As soon I exit Firefox the old (default) settings come up (exept my search engine - that it remebers). I cannot find any "save settings" any where. Best regards RP

I am on Windows 10 Pro 22H2 19045.5011, using Firefox 132 (64-bit), not running Kaspersky, I do have AdGuard (7.19.0 (4853) (CL 1.16.44, DL 2.5.41 )) and Malwarebytes (4.6.17.334) on my system along with their browser adons. I have attached some screenshots, hope they are useful.

5th Nov 2024 Hi, Firfox has just (few hours ago) updated.. It has 'lost' ALL of my (several years of) PASSWORDS, BOOKMARKS and HISTORY I have tried the fixes given on the forum,. but there doesn't seem to be anything there to recover. And frankly the whole 'other profile' thing confused me.

Can anybody help please.. ?

I have no idea why, but all of a sudden Twitch streams won't work on Firefox. It's only affecting Twitch because I can load YouTube and other streaming sites fine, and it's only on Firefox because it works fine on Chrome. I tried clearing my cache and cookies, disabling all add-ons and extensions, and restarting my device. Nothing works. The only indication that I have of what the issue might be is a message in the browser console that says this:

NetworkError: A network error occurred. addcf53b-cec4-4980-829e-de0aca27def2:1

   <anonymous> blob:https://www.twitch.tv/addcf53b-cec4-4980-829e-de0aca27def2:1

From what I can tell, the blob is where the browser loads the stream itself. Every stream I've tried to load gives me this error.

UPDATE: I was able to fix it by clearing the cache.

For a month or so after last updates is getting impossible to work with firefox. It's is getting sluggish with 3-4 open tabs after few minutes, I can't do anything, have to close all windows and open again. Even to text this for got ridiculous slow, I have only 5 addons enabled, I had 10 before but for testing disabled all others. now only have ublock origin, disconect, ad-block, blocktube, and facebook container. If I open youtube, facebook and a google searching page and start to use, after few minutes everything goes very very slow, if to type something. What's going on ? Also there's like 12 firefox tabs on task manager, taking a lot of processing and memory. Already scanned with antivirus, and it's clean. Intel i7-6700T 16gb ram, SSD, Radeon R7-M370 it's a HP AIO 27-p010xt-CTO. And is not because it's an old machine on my new laptop happens the same, and I went online and there's a lot of people saying the same.
